Don't think I have ever been to one and certainly wouldn't pay to go to one.

Why is it a waste of money? Sometimes you will see the best games of the year. Nothing is at stake and players are playing to get into the 1st team for the start of the season. What I call a waste of money are the games last season under SP where we were struggling to get a shot on target.
