Two weeks before we face what will be a nervy, edgy team from Nottingham desperate to make a good start under a new manager.
We have home advantage where we have been reasonably successful so we should be more than ready to attack these boys from the get go!
That means two weeks for Thorn, Harrison and Oggy to get THEIR act together and get their thoughts and ideas honed and instilled into the players. Lots of time then to get defending set pieces right, how to quickly take a throw in (nothing more annoying to watch a highly paid professional footballer and team stand there with no idea what to do with a throw in!) how to run off the ball, etc etc. Come on guys iron out the nonsense we have seen and start to play like a cohesive unit using what we have to it's strengths. Is that too much to ask?
I expect to see a fully fit young man like Cody McDonald chomping at the bit to knock a goal or two in and Juke and the like with an excellent game plan worked out in training to actuate that with ease.
Sort out the pairing for central defence and stick with it. Sort out who you want as your first preferred 11 baring injuries and stick with it. Play them in practice games against the rest of the squad, over and over until they get it right, get to know each other well and prove they deserve their place in the team. They want the spotlight - they gotta earn it.
A little less hard training and do more with the ball on a pitch until it comes good.
Practice shooting (Mc.Sheffrey) practice penalties. Practice tackling. Practice the bloody tactics you want and get it through to them so they are clear. Practice the changes to the tactics.
Yes Mr Thorn it's not the work ethic as you say then it must be the end product.
Practice, practice, practice. No excuse when I sit there in 2 weeks having shelled out around £100 to go to the match with my son and don't see things being done that are obvious to the untrained eye not just a professional coaching eye.
Is it too much to expect?
