Was a pretty shocking crowd today.

I've heard people say 'higher than the average' but we aren't an average size club in league one!

If we had 11,000 in January fair enough, but after a season away and some good form it was so disappointing.

Do not want be negative , Not sure what happened today with the fans.Paid for ST picked Up Yeovil a PNE ticket Friday from shop.left casino today -at 2.35. Queued to get in block 20 almost 100 people in queue for 1 turnstile ..ACL ??? Announced that more turnstiles were open in north stand so went back just got to top of steps to see 1st goal , but still hundreds outside !!!!! NO Paper signage to say which was cash or ticket.
Enjoyed the game and atmosphere. Shocked when crowd was given at just over 11,000 , disappointed that 14,000 did not give it a go.mate I took on Friday is on holiday, girl who sat next to me works all day Saturday, so not excuses just valid reasons.PUSB

its dissapointing because teams like barnsley , preston , bristol and bradford ...teams that i regard as smaller in comparison , are getting bigger gates

Yeah it's the such a quick drop that's worrying. Didn't take long for the good feeling to wear off.

If the team stops winning, could be down to 8k by January!

Beat me to it as that was my thought also, the attendances will grow very quickly if we continue to put 100% like every player did today which is something we have been missing for a long time

CCFC have missed a trick, could have sold Gillingham tickets as part of a package with todays match. Used to do it years ago for cup matches.

Calling someone a twat because they doubt you can estimate sparse numbers in a stadium would be up there.

Why all this crap about the attendance? Our attendance today was above average for league one! Why should we suddenly have attendances of 20000? We are still in league one playing fucking Yeovil!

Fourth highest attendance today only bettered by

Sheff Utd v Rochdale - 19,122
Bradford v Swindon - 12,486
Bristol C v Donny - 11,733
Coventry - 11,085

Crawley v Fleetwood - 1,905 !!!!! plus every other side had a lower crowd than us, so stop bitching about people who weren't there and enjoy the footy. It's their loss not ours, as Timmy sez "win three games and they'll come back"................or something like that, I don't really listen to what the twat says.

A week before payday, and silly me thought paying for petrol to get to work, and food for the family, was a little more important. I hope you can accept my humble apologies.

Opinions are there to be challenged, not some auto-defence against a reply. If you don't want it discussed, don't bring it up in a discussion forum.

The operational part of returning to the Ricoh was always going to take time to get up to speed. Would you have preferred to stay in Northampton till November so that everything was running perfectly?

Support is earned I agree, but 27000 last Friday to 11000 today? Every reason to feel disappointed with that.

Who has mentioned staying at Northampton, what a daft remark. Can you or anyone explain to me the difficulty in selling tickets for an event, any event. Returning to the Ricoh has been known for over three weeks now, so again where is the difficulty ? Why have season tickets not arrived. We have always had ticketing issues at City even in the HR days. Should you really have to queue twice to go once on a gate the third of capacity, that stops people bothering especially if they haven't bothered for twelve months. I question deep down if those running the show really care and are fit for purpose.

I thought it looked less than 11k, hardly anyone in the north stand. Was surprised when they announced it as 11k. Poor showing after 27k, back to the league one standard attendance.

Agreed, 10k at best. Never seen the telegraph so empty for a league game.

Yes there is no way there was more then that there. One closed stand and another virtually empty.

There's a hard core of about 10,000 that go every single home game; it's just reverted back to them again today. Sad really, yes it was never gonna be 27,000 but you'd have a thought just a few of those who went Friday would return. The usual 'lack of trust, Sisu need to earn it back bla bla bla' stuff is out again but it's rubbish; the crowd is virtually identical to the one we got when we last played Yeovil at the Ricoh. People can't expect things to improve if you're not willing to put your hand in your pocket and support the club financially.

It's not a daft remark... it's merely the alternative scenario that could have occurred.

If we've always had ticketing issues going back to HR, you're implying that it is not really just about the current owners....

I agree that there should be better organisation... now they have a bit of time before the next home game to get everything as it should be. I would imagine that it will be far smoother come the Preston game.

Hopefully the club get there act together now, the club have to be exploring very possible route to getting more fans in the stadium.

A free ticket, free shirt, free beer and Chauffeur driven to the game in a rolls Royce might be needed for some....

They should just make it free to get in. That should get the crowds up to 13k at least. Maybe subscribe all the thousands of stay always up to free sky sports accounts too? Oh, and fillet steak by the truckload, delivered to their door?

It costs £20 for a Dominos pizza for 2, £40 for a couple to eat at Frankie and Bennys. Moreover, it cost me £90 to go to see a very popular musician not long ago. It's all relative, out tickets are reasonably priced, the fact is SISU or no SISU the support isn't there. This is fine, just don't get on your high horses and pollute this season with your disgust that the club aren't opening their arsehole for you when you never went in the first place.

The holier-than-thou shit is a bit annoying to be honest. If I'd known we were coming back to the Ricoh I'd have put money aside for a season ticket, but as last season ended - and this started - at Sixfields, I didn't. And the £20 cost of a ticket becomes £30-35 when you add on car-parking and a beer or two - for me, attending football is about the experience of the day, not just the 90+ minutes on the pitch.

The drop-off in attendance is as much to do with the organisation of it all - returning to the Ricoh after the season started, as an example - as anything else. The politics off the pitch have influenced behaviour off it, from those like me who now can't afford to attend every game, to those who work some weekends, to those who are just plain disillusioned by it all.

Blaming the fans is the easy option. There's far more to it than that.

So those that couldn't afford to go to the game could afford the other things that you mentioned?
