I thought you would be happy after demanding for years the academy produces Premier League players? Now it’s produced two who are England players and probably worth a combined £120m you don’t want to talk about it?
Adge could win a million pounds and complain that it isn’t 2 million.

Two out of how many?
No I don’t really want to talk about it (continuously) as they are not our players anymore and I am not as obsessed as others seem to be.

We are the second highest providers in the English squad and were top 20 in Europe for Premier League minutes last season so clearly we’re doing better than quite a lot...

Do you think the academy has underachieved or overachieved by being the second best provider of players in the England squad currently and being in the top 20 in Europe for PL minutes last season?
Paint that picture if you like and the old stats argument comes into play.
Counter that with how many others were damp squibs over the same term/years.
Yes they have both done well and as I said previously good luck to them.
Let’s not pretend though that our academy has rocketed them into the England team it’s just where it started for them.
Better coaching/facilities/tactics and playing/being around better players/clubs would have had a bigger impact.

So underachieved then yes?

Not quite as laughable as saying that our academy is ultimately responsible for Wilson and Maddison playing for England.

It's something our club and especially our academy should be proud of. I don't know why you find this hard to swallow?

I didn’t say that. I said they were produced/provided by our academy which is a fact

Overachieved or underachieved?
Not sure what your point is? So has it been an underachieving up until this point then with Wilson and Maddison gaining England recognition as they are the first since Kirkland (IIRC)?

So if our academy players play for us, they're dreadful and our academy is shite, if our academy players go on to play for England, it's nothing to do with our academy. You do see why you're ridiculed on here don't you?

No I would say it was in the middle, neither underachieving or overachieving. Whatever your view on them it produced the likes of McSheffrey, Davenport and Turner who made over 100 appearances in the Premier League. And also netted the club vital funds

Clearly now it is up there with England and Europe’s most productive it is overachieving when we are a third tier club without a stadium of our own even if it hurts you to admit it
