It’d be interesting to see what the SU faithful made of that result…

10 points from the last 5. Remarkable turn around, given we were an absolute shambles in the first few games.

There were reasons for that other than us being shit though. We didn't have the chance to build momentum with the postponements.

Well well well...what's going on here lol
5 clean sheets in 6 games, and only 1 loss in 6.
We must be quite high in the current form table.
I know i'm getting just a tad carried away, but we have 4 games in hand on 2nd place Blackburn (27pts)...win those 4 (i know...unlikely), and we are on 25pts, and in the playoff places.
Football is a mad game.

Some really strange decisions by the ref. One of the clearest pens you’ll ever see and he was trying not to give it. How he gave them a corner near the end when their player was clearly about 5 foot above any of our defenders is beyond me. Not surprised he didn’t give them a red. If we’ve learnt anything over the years against Sheff Utd it’s that one of our players needs to be murdered for that to happen.

Defence looking good, O'Hare soon to return, very winnable games in hand... Where the bedwetters at?

Once we got some actual quality and forward intent on the pitch it wasn’t so bad.

Sure they'll be disappointed. Think most would probably admit it was a crap game with a fair & reflective result probably being 0-0.

Personally think Waghorn is a better fit in the team than Godden. Think Palmer looks good too. Would like to see both get more minutes.

Waghorn scores a good penalty and you could see what it meant to him and the way the team celebrated with him, and then to cap it all he gives his shirt to a kid at the end. Top bloke.

Palmer's work rate closing down when he's come on has been very good, him and O'Hare will be a nightmare for the opposition if they play together behind Gyokeres

I’ve had enough of Godden. You could argue this type of game wasn’t for him but you could say that for every game. Maybe not had enough, but he needs a ‘rest’.

Fucking ground that basturrd out.

Hard to watch sometimes but another massive 3 points along with another clean sheet. The performances we’re used to from last season will come… but winning ugly games is what we need right now.

Not so glamorous but I’ll take it!

Never really join in on the ref blasting, but even by Stroud’s standards, that was some of the worst and weirdest officiating I’ve ever seen.

Yep I fancy that to be our first choice lineup eventually.

Does mean 4 strikers on the bench or not selected though!

Eccles and Allen just don’t pass forward or break the lines at all, there was a huge gap and Godden and Györkeres just had to chase big lumps up field cos there’s no options ahead of the midfield.

I get why Robins does it, we’re on a crap run and he wants to stop the run so he plays three hardworking CMs in a flat three and it works (we didn’t same first season up) but by his it kills any fluency and is horrible to watch.

Hopefully Ashley will stick a few quid into the squad in Jan for a play off push.

They had Gyokeres in their pockets almost the whole game but persistence paid off, and the very first time he got past his man he won the pen that brought 3 priceless points. No idea why the ref had to think about it. Such a release when it went in.

A horrible team to play against, hardly gave anyone a yard of space the whole match.

I get that, but the defence was the worst I've seen it since the days of Reece Brown for the first few. Just felt like a squad short of confidence and, tbh, very short of ability at the back. But I'm always glad when my pessimism turns out to be wrong!

I arrived home late ended up watching on tv with the wrong commentary

Not a lot of quality on show but a win is that matters - defending seemed pretty dire second half and we rode our luck but doesn’t matter in the end

We do look jaded though on midfield

Allen had a reasonable game.

We are at least capable of grinding results out

What a result.

Average performance but we won. And that means more.

Momentum on our side and still got COH to return.

Atmosphere fantastic and was needed and was a very tense last 10 minutes.

Worst officials performance for a long time. Linesman constantly behind play.

Feel good feeling this week.

It was a deserved win. Sheffield had little in the final third and they were there for the picking. It was always going to be a 1 nil or a 0-0. Just one oportunity to strike and thanks to Viks strength it was us. Clear penalty all day. what was their defender thinking? great penalty and game won. Not pretty but they were top the other day. Our midfield needs Hamer and he made a big difference, as did Palmer. McFazdean is marshalling the back line brilliant and is on the end of everything. Can't argue with another clean sheet. Tough game where Sheffield looked marginally better than us until the last 15. Our change of style has us grinding out results, but is overworking the defenders. Confidence grows and the players look forward to the next one. O'Hare must be itching to get in on this......

Superb result, and a decent display after a dire first half.
