Just imagine how good we'd be if we were the best team in the league

Simply comparing goals and assists is not a way to judge a player, there's for more to it than that. I find it infuriating, especially when players play in different positions and have different responsibilities on the pitch. Comparing Rudi and O'Hare's output for instance would make more sense...

Very good that. I did a 3x 2km (@ sub 3:30/km) session this afternoon with 2:30 rests (slow jog) as part of a 17km run. Plan to do a long run (30km+) on Friday (probably 3x 5 miles + warm up and cool down). Have recently set some PBs: - Half marathon PB of 1:22:39 (@ ave 3:55/km) as part of a...

    Championship thread 25/26!

I agree to an extent. Only works if the £50m is spent on good players. The risk is spending the £50m on players who subsequently turn out to be crap. Risk v reward.

Fair enough - just want to make sure people understand how the club is set up

    Championship thread 25/26!

Regarding your comment on this, whilst I have no idea how Leicester are structured, your interpretation on CCFC's structure and ownership of the Arena is interesting. It depends on what you constitute the football club to be - Covcityco Ltd (parent co) or Coventry City Football Club Ltd. The...

If the club is liquid enough, it means it’s probably been run well and therefore probably wouldn’t need any loans (unless you put in a loan to try to supercharge the progress, risky). The only feasible way I can see a club being profitable/liquid is through buying players on the cheap (with...

Not necessarily. Only works if the club is liquid enough to pay the interest and then return the principal, otherwise you’ve still lost your money.

    Annual accounts published

Have had a quick glance, will give a detailed response over the weekend. There’s not much in these set of accounts in all honesty, pretty bland set of football club accounts. Revenue up, wages up, reduced player sales, increased amortisation (due to increased player purchases) = bigger loss this...

I use Maurten 100s. A bit pricey but they’re my go to.

Season Ticket Fund - Yes/No for 9th year

Voted yes, but as others have said, only if you have the time. Great effort so far, well done and thank you!

20 mile long run today which included 3 blocks of 5 miles with a 1km slow jog between each. Block times of 31:20, 31:10 and 31:40. A few long runs left before the big day. Tested the chosen marathon shoes and used a few gels on the way. Pleased to get it done.

I second the interval sessions - horrible doing them, but you definitely reap the rewards if you do them consistently.

Nice to see some of the 'journalists' have picked up on this now (Coventry Observer, The Sun).

Hoping for sub 3, so 4:15/km. I did a 30km the other week at 4:10/km average (albeit I had breaks totalling about 9 mins to check google maps as was running in an unfamiliar area. It was pissing down with rain and was dark too, so that didn’t help). Was really starting to feel it at the end...

Been picking up the mileage recently ahead of the London Marathon (106km, 82km, 95.7km totals for the last 3 weeks). Last week's hard session was a warm up followed by 5x 1.6km (2:15 rest), a 6.4km block and a cool down. Then did a 10km tempo at the weekend in 38:53. Hit the first 4 reps in...

    Finance update

You also have the liability offsetting the asset on the balance sheet. Worth noting that the club acquired four companies rather than simply the stadium. My opinion is he’ll keep the existing set up as is. Covcityco Ltd (ultimate parent) wholly owns: Coventry city football club limited (ie the...

I don’t think so. At least in recent years it has not.

Which will involve long term cash flows. Agree the club is now a more complete package. But as what Cally Fedora was kind of getting at, the club is only more profitable for DK if the arena has strengthened the financial operations of the club. The only way to know this is long term cash flows.
