    Opposition Manager's Dilemma

How do they stop our attacking threat. It's very difficult because at any one time we have 5,6,7 players on the field at once who all carry a genuine goal threat, Wright, EMC, BTA, Torp, Thomas, Rudoni when fit, and even our full backs are dangerous going forward. Then we have players with a...

Blackburn, Portsmouth, Watford, Wrexham, and Sheff U coming up, 3 at home. We could expect points from all of those. 3 wins and a draw would keep us at or near the top, any more would be brilliant.

Desperately need 3 the second half, then we will have scored 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 in under 10 games. Surely that's never been done in top level football

    The Holy grail

As said above, the only massive overperformance was against QPR, and we massively underperformed against Norwich, which actually was our highest xG. Here are our xG figures for all our league games. Only against Derby and QPR have we outperformed our xG by more than 1 goal Hull 0.87 Derby 3.26...

Frank has passed his first full season test set by King .

If we get into serious trouble there is always the free agent option as a last resort until January. Most players without a club will keep themselves fit if they have any desire to find a new club eventually.

You forgot to add only 1 team has won more games than us, that's only 1 more and they are the only team above us.

    2nd favorites now

Yes, we play 11 league games in November & December, the only team currently in the top 9 we don't play is Leicester. The other 4 are against Ipswich (twice) Southampton, and Sheff U who will most probably have sorted themselves out by then. Can't get a tougher run than that.

After tonight's results a draw tomorrow will put us back in second place, and even if we lose we will only be 1 point behind second.

No, just replying to Rob9872 comments about how tough November looks. October fixtures don't look too bad.

I think their intention was to do a job on us, and they didn't come to park the bus, but if they had gone ahead I think we might have seen different tactics

I remember thinking September looked tough a month ago but we managed 5 points from 3, and unbeaten. The way I see November is, Sheff U - will have to wait and see if they have turned the corner or not, but they didn't look anything special yesterday. Stoke will be tough but I'm sure the lads...

    Judging the Frank Lampard change

Yes, not a very big sample but we have only conceded 1 in the last 3 games. Not bad when you consider the games included Leicester away, Birmingham who were/are one of the favourites for promotion, and one of our bogey teams, Norwich.
