Match Thread Coventry City - Ipswich Town Match Thread - Monday 29th Dec

There were a lot of questionable passes and decisions from players in our own half. We've gotten away with them recently, but Ipswich are much better quality than we have faced lately. Thankfully favourable results mean tonight was almost a free-hit, and we are effectively back to where we...

    The bitterness...

I do feel quite strongly about the new breed of fans jumping on the bandwagon..... someone mentioned ex-Liverpool fans now proclaiming their undying love for City (PUSB, etc) I know one Liverpool fan who became a Wasps fan, before now becoming a "proud CCFC season ticket holder".

    The bitterness...

I don't really understand the "bitterness"....... It was just very sad where we were heading..... undoubtedly made worse by mismanagement and politics..... but we weren't the biggest team to fall down the leagues, and i expect we'd have likely ended up in the 3rd division at some point...

    The bitterness...

This is the issue for me..... The journey back up will likely be a lot better than the destination. Basically striving to become a yo-yo club is realistically what we can hope for. (its a lot better than what we've had since 2001, but its hardly what dreams are made of)

    Atmosphere again

Granted i watched it on TV, but the atmosphere sounded really poor for the majority. Even the commentators (i know, hardly beacons of knowledge on fan matters) mentioned it a couple of times. Its no different to most other championship grounds. But we're "pissing the league", with a full...

    Ipswich Game

They're all reasonable points, but the final score was a resounding 3-0.......... if we'd seen a team off by 3 goals we'd not be looking at the circumstances and small margins surrounding the game. I'd also be pleased with a draw.

    Ipswich Game

Ipswich beat us convincingly a couple of weeks ago. I'm all for the confidence that being at home gives us...... but i think the idea that we'll "put them back in their box" etc, is a little misplaced.

    Championship thread 25/26!

They got promoted with considerable ease last season, and you wouldn't bet against them making the playoffs this..... I don't think thats a failure..... whatever a section of their fans and ownership might have shouted about.

    Leicester At It Yet Again!

So no different to us then.....

    Leicester At It Yet Again!

Comments from where? Twitter? Facebook? Most Leicester fans i know personally, once you step past the local rivalry, are genuine football fans. Same with Blues and Villa.

    Running

Last weekend was the Warwickshire Cross Country Champs in Smethwick (for athletics purposes, Warwickshire is the old county, and covers Coventry and large swathes of Birmingham) A good day for Cov Godiva. 1st, 2nd & 4th in the Ladies race saw a team gold with ease. Similarly in the mens, 4th...

    Our next major appointment

You might want to revisit that comment next year when we lose 5-0 to Bournemouth

    Premier League thread

Trouble is most neutral fans don't really give a fuck about Newcastle's owners. In most people's eyes they're just a little bit more abhorrent than whoever owns most of the big clubs nowadays. Football sold itself long ago, so Newcastle's owners are just the tip of the iceberg. I suspect...

    30 Years ago Today

Was also my first season ticket. Despite having been going to HR since the end of 92, this was the first real big memory. Although looking back at the footage, it looks fairly dreadful in a half-empty stadium.

Match Thread Preston North End FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 9th Dec

Please don't talk with any sense or logic..... We're averaging a point a game (over the last game), thats relegation form whichever way you look at it.

    European football thread

Yes, and its looking bleak at the moment. But they've got a run of more favourable games now, so might pull themselves out a bit. Its a shame the ground is being redeveloped as it was proper iconic. Same thing happened at Atalanta, i'm glad i went there before that got redeveloped. And it looks...

    World Cup 2026

Unbelievable that this World Cup looks nailed on to be worse than Qatar.

    European football thread

Going to Florence in February. Hoping to secure tickets for Fiorentina vs Pisa, which is a pretty spicy derby..... but Fiorentina are redeveloping their ground in time for the 2032 Euros (i think), so capacity is reduced. Livorno are playing at home that weekend which is my backup plan...

    Attendances

I haven't read the entire thread, seems like another tedious argument. Crowds are fantastic considering where we were such a short time ago. But lets not try to justify £45 for a ticket whatever the circumstances...... if it was another club we'd (rightly) be up in arms about it.
