Can anybody tell me how the track Lipstick and Magazines Shot by both sides has the same riff running through them. I know Devoto was in the buzzcocks early on, so was this a song that was in the writing when he left and both bands finished it in their own style ?

No it doesn't, if he hasn't done it deliberately it begs the question as to why he can't just explain how he has messed up, i think if he had done that people would be a bit more forgiving.
