    Sure Cardiff would oblige.

Give over. Apart from anything else, his wages will be obscene.

Match Thread Coventry City - Portsmouth FC Match Thread - Tuesday 21st Apr

Hyam especially played a huge part for us: at a time when we can afford to be magnanimous, he deserves a warm reception.

Statement signings if we go up?

Never thought he was anything particularly special in the Championship.

Speculating, yes, of course. I don't know if we looked at him or not, or if we did, what meant nothing came of it.

People have to take responsibility for themselves. He can't say 'Wilder got me fat'. I don't doubt his quality, just his commitment to keeping himself at his peak. For that reason, I don't want him back. I don't for a second doubt that Lampard wouldn't either. There's a man who appreciates...

You shouldn't have to get them fit, though. He has access to all the facilities and trainers required to maintain requisite levels of fitness, but doesn't. It's easier to teach someone to play football than to get someone to do something they don't want to do.

He might have, but how much of Sheffield United's mediocrity is down to him not being able to cover ground due to lack of fitness?* When we played them, he had all of the technique and quality, but none of the drive or verve. *I don't know the answer to this, it's just said to make a broader...

It was ok after he took over mid-season from Gould, but dire after that. The football was turgid, too, from what I remember. Signing Dublin was his great contribution; definitely need to be grateful for that.

Most of it's just attention seeking dimwits, but some of them are quite good. That Stoke lad is particularly good at it. I think there's a place for fans reporting on the game, if they are objective.

Most of the duds were fringe players. The really bad one was Bellamy. No fault of Bellamy's really, as he was extremely inexperienced, had spent the previous season injured, and to cap it off, wasn't the even the right type of player for what we needed. He was expected to be another Robbie...

Yes and no. He took us down, but we lost our best players and didn't replace them adequately; I don't know how much of that was on him. Prior to that, his teams played some brilliant football, but there's still the nagging doubt that they underachieved. The most obvious example is the team...

    Daylight offside

Haven't they tried this before, years ago (or was it just mooted)? Tbh, the issue isn't the law, which is fine, it's how VAR is utilised to enforce it, with the vastly overly pedantic enforcement currently in practice. As the OP says, this won't solve that, just put the lines in a different...

He watched our cup run games and Wright is one of his favourite players. Completely normal reasons for finding your team. He did make a fifteen minute video to tell us that, mind.

    Championship thread 25/26!

I don't entirely disagree, but the frustration is that Ipswich get (or seem to get) a degree more of these decisions than other clubs. There was minimal contact, not enough to impede the striker, who went to ground anyway. Even if technically the wrong decision had not been made, then it's a...
