Might be wrong on this but I think Markelo’s preferred position is RW and cutting in, whereas George prefers to play off the left. It could work - not to be confused with that being our plan!
One of my mates growing up was a big Man Utd fan (that never went to games). Just started inviting him to away games in L1 and L2 and he got the bug, now a big Cov fan and was able to convert a couple of others as well. It’s not inherently a bad thing.
In which case, fair enough. As I said, I haven’t seen any coverage. If there’s no arrests and it’s mere suspicion from the public at this stage then nothing to release.
I think it boils down to peoples’ desperation for immediate answers.
Mat Ryan could be a decent option as #2 keeper.
Separately, and in no way a rumour, but an interesting option in midfield could be Cristian Casseres from Toulouse. Looks decent stats-wise and can do a bit of everything.
Most clubs’ financial year-end is June, with corresponding accounts released in March of the following year. It really feels like the EFL are being made to wait until they’re published - just change the rules so they have to submit a copy to the EFL within 6 months of year-end/end of the...
Not sure on this season but Brentford often switched between a 3 and 4 under Thomas Frank and given he seems to be quite a big inspiration in Lampard’s management style I expect him to do the same.
Not really. If we get a slug of £150m (I think it’s broken into 2 instalments during the season) then we could theoretically spend the £150m on fees over 3 years and keep £100m of it in the bank to cover the instalments. Really not that alien a concept.
For reference, I don’t think we’ll spend...
Could always point at that Palace season to show his capability but that’s getting longer and longer ago. I do also think he’s more in the mould of a ‘defensive 10’ than a deep lying midfielder and that’s done him in a bit.
So we’re going to move 7 on but only 3 of their replacements (and that’s including a keeper!!) are going to be good enough to start regularly? Nah, nonsense.
If we’re signing 8 players then at least 6 of them will be straight in as regular starters.
