Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Yeah that sounds like the HMRC rate if you’re using your own vehicle. It’s 17p a mile in a 2 litre petrol company car atm. Haven’t done the maths but I’ve no doubt it doesn’t cover it at £1.85 a litre. I just make sure the battery is fully charged before I leave the drive everyday to make sure...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The tax relief on heat/electric/Wi-Fi for home work is about £300 a year iirc. That’s the standard rate anyway. I think you can seek more but have to prove the business cost.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

No it’s predominantly for travel to/from site investigations, although we do claim to/from office if we are officially home workers, albeit we only go in for meetings rather than desk work. I have been for 10+ years though. We’ve traditionally had fuel cards and had personal miles deducted from...

Best TV shows or movies you can recommend

Watched Stillwater on Sky Cinema last night. Was expecting a Bourne-like rescue/revenge thriller based on the three line synopsis. What we got was an unnecessarily drawn out drama with little action based loosely on the Amanda Knox story. 2/5.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

We get these already. Although they no longer touch the sides, much like the current HMRC fuel reimbursement rates.

Father and son killed in side car event taking the total dead in this years event to FIVE. RIP. I don’t follow the sport. Is this level of deaths normal? Seems outrageous to me and surely a precursor to huge change? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/motorsport/61760266

    Things that annoy you

My missus keeps the teabag in every cup and then doesn’t remove it when she’s finished. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve loaded the dishwasher next morning and they’ve been stuck in the cups. Boils my piss.

    Banning Smoking

This is about the same for me. Don’t crave cigarettes at all now and the smell on others is vile. But I do vape a lot, working at desk and driving, it’s pretty constant. I don’t feel in the least bit unhealthy though, nothing on my chest and no cough and I can run like the old days. I do worry...

    Cineworld bows to the bigots

Agree. And more importantly kowtowing to it should be avoided. Sets an ugly precedent here. Not that you can blame cinema management worrying for the safety of their staff…. could conceivably result in a Charlie Hebdo situation. Good old religion.

    Derby points deduction

All serious businessmen conducting multi million pound deals correspond with stakeholders via Twitter. It is all starting to look a bit Evans/Dinsha isn’t it.

Ordered to pay back the £960,000 he made from it or; “If he does not forfeit the fee in three months, he will entitled to serve an additional six years and eight months behind bars” £150,000 a year to stay inside longer. Tempting but I think I’d rather the freedom 🤔

    Football Manager

Sacked by Solihull Moors in 2040, in a season I won the FA Cup. I took that team from the conference to the height of the Prem, finishing second twice. Won the Europa cup x1, Champions League x1, FA Cup x2 and League Cup x2. Left them in a 30,000 seater stadium and with a team full of elite...

I don’t mind the history of royalty and enjoyed visiting the sights in London. But the whole people worshipping side of things irks me. They, like celebrities, eat, piss, shit and die like the rest of us. I had to do a visit to a Duchess for work and the boot licking was cringeworthy and makes...
