    Player Ratings v Hull

Overall classier team and certainly put in the effort. Obviously disappointing to drop two vital points. Thought beforehand a game must not lose rather than must win. If we had the goalkeeper from Hull based on tonight's performance, play off's would have been secured ages ago.

Completely agree with this. Right in front of me. Get on with game and 'face up'.

Match Thread Coventry City - Portsmouth FC Match Thread - Wednesday 9th Apr

That game personified the sheer arrogance of Gordon Strachen. Fans were chanting to make the change of goalkeeper because of injury. That almost got us relegated in I think was 96/97. Strachan was a very good footballer, is intelligent however his arrogance was certainly a factor in us getting...

    Worst ever referee?

Happened more than twice. No attempt to disguise it by initially hobbling. It was as though they were either 'enjoying taking the mickey' or perhaps alternatively 'maximising there effectiveness by sprinting to be back in position' I've never seen any team as well drilled by a coach in...

    Worst ever referee?

I agree that was astonishing decision

    Lampard red card

Just been on train with Burnley fans. Nice guys but they said ref was biased against them! Quoted an example of Kitching faking a foul. Amazing how other fans can see things differently. For the record, Burnley tactics on the dark arts surpassed anything I've ever seen. This game will never...

    RIP Eddie Jordan

I absolutely concur with your last sentence through experience . If you are going for a wee a lot or ever pass blood don't ignore it ! Testing is easy for both cancers Eddie Jordan had. Don't be embarrassed or afraid its very important if anything is wrong it gets spotted early . They could be...

    Matchday Rewind Aston Villa 1 - 0 Coventry City | Sat, 25 Aug, 1984

Glad someone else can remember it! It was a quite warm afternoon . Once people decided enough was enough "let's get off" nothing could stop everyone leaving although sounds like some tried to.

    Matchday Rewind Aston Villa 1 - 0 Coventry City | Sat, 25 Aug, 1984

I was one of them. Two memories of the day. 1) Oggy's debut match for Coventry 2) Train back to Coventry stuck outside Coventry station for ages. Eventually people just got off the train and walked down the track. That sort of thing is not allowed anymore.

Eccles Injured for rest of the season

Sad news for Josh. Not good for squad either obviously.

    Jamie allen

I was at Norwich and for me Jamie's performance that day has turned our whole season around. It was a disastrous ending and 'why oh why?' did BTA not take that chance to make it 2-0 late on but we were so much more competitive and worked as a team that day. Its all improved since that match and...

    Midfield 3

This does make perfect sense. Obviously we cant just ignore Eccles completely. Latibeaudiere can also be called upon if needed for defensive midfield duties. On paper / computer screen it looks very good.

    Midfield 3

The midfield options are very strong. Grimes, Rudoni, Torp and the valuable Allen. Sheaf and Eccles as backup/ rotation. On a slight tangent, I hope BTA gets fit. He isn't outstanding and but he could be an important player to have around in final few games.

Amazing I've got the total opposite opinion about the quality of both songs and The Proclaimers .

So who realistically are the teams left fighting for 5th and 6th

We can at last count ourselves as being a big club again. We might only be in level two but definitely one of the major clubs in this division. Attendances prove this. Currently 5th highest at home but chasing down Sheffield United 4th rapidly.

Fantasy play-off scenario, should we make the Wembley final

I know Otis you are a person who likes to generate some fun. 'Straight bat' though on this from me. I don't care about other clubs in this division. I just want to get promoted back to 'where we really belong' even if it's just for one season.

So who realistically are the teams left fighting for 5th and 6th

I agree Clint totally good spot on Sheffield Wednesday. A lot to do but fixtures are quite kind to them. They a quite a good team . To string that consistency of results together is a big ask but they do have a chance. I also discount the rest now apart from Bristol City ,West Bromwich and...
