    Gentleman's Hobbies...what, what...

Since having a wood burner fitted my latest hobby is chopping wood and collecting implements for doing it. You wouldn't believe how rewarding swinging an axe could be.

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

Agreed. I don't believe for one minute that anyone who willingly invests their money in a hedge fund is so sensitive that they won't deal with CCC.

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

10 years would be sensible. If SISU are serious about a new stadium at the pace they are going we'll still need to be there in 10 years time. If they ain't it gives them plenty of time to get their litigation out the way and sell to some serious owners and if they want to build us a new stadium.

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

I would think that there is almost certainly an act covering the sale of assets such as ACL. I just don't think that this is it. Keep looking Dave, it will be in the public domain so you'll find it.

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

Dave. I'm not deliberately trying to piss on your chip's hear but for many a year I worked in the building industry, new housing mainly. I could be wrong and I'm more than happy to be corrected but I'm pretty sure that this refers to the disposal of land or to be more specific open spaces...

Good post Dave. Agree whole heartedly.

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

I don't disagree. But when people start accusing me of supporting Wasps etc. when I've never said anything remotely pro wasp's, don't go and watch them, never will and have repeatedly stated that CCFC's fans shouldn't be going I'm going to put the gloves on (metaphorically speaking). Sorry you...

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

There's plenty of people on here who get the hump and accuse you of supporting Wasps if you say it isn't going to happen and we need something longer term than our current arrangement at the Ricoh. Look at the unfounded accusations I've had thrown my way over the weekend. In the lack of any...

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

People? You mean person. And he is generalising. Like the rest of us he doesn't know the ownership model of the stadium, the build cost, how that cost is going to be covered, what extra revenue it will be available, what the running cost will be etc. etc. There is no factual comparison because...

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

Not sure Stockport are in the same arrangement as us. Pretty sure that they have all the income from the site but also have all the running costs. They rent it of the council I believe after the council purchased the ground to save it from redevelopment.

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

Thanks Rusty. It's a bit light on details but the that is the situation we're in. We've got of the cuff remarks on everything about a new stadium, the ownership model, the cost, how that cost is going to met, location, design etc. Although we do know what colour the curtains will be apparently...

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

I'd like to read the whole article, not a few selected sound bites. No offence meant. One "experts" opinion is never gospel on it's own. If it was SISU wouldn't have won the appeal would they.

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

Here's my issue Dave. If owning your own stadium is the cash cow it's supposed to be why do so many club's keep finding themselves with in so much financial trouble while still not competing in their league? These football finance experts. Are they forming their opinions on a generalisation or...

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

A sensible post. Given that we're now self sufficient profit is indeed the most important thing and clearly this is what is going to determine our playing budget not FFP ect. If the cost of running our own stadium and maintaining the debt from building our own stadium or indeed buying the Ricoh...

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

Talking of selective hearing the clubs business model is now self sufficiency. So lets say we do have our own ground that doesn't automatically mean that our playing budget will be bigger. Indeed aside from the running costs of the stadium we'll also have a considerable debt to maintain for the...

Do you have a link to the whole piece Dave?

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

Don't know about a random bloke but TF was quoted saying it for sure and I can't ever recall ML ever being on CWR's skyblue phone in without ever saying it. IIRC it was every football financial expert in the world.
  18. skybluetony176

Wasps Value Ricoh Arena at £48.5 million

Serious question. Is that actually true? I know it's an often repeated line of TF and ML (when he was with us) but i don't actually recal them naming any said experts or linking to a specific piece by any football finace expert. I always took as another of one of the many flipant, unfounded...
