Real chance of staying up now?

Let's put things in perspective, It was against 10 men. We did get an own goal in our favour. The 2nd goal quite possibly didn't cross the line. Boro have been on a bit of a bad run themselves of late. We have only scored 6 goals away all season. The last point is the most relevant here...

Is our Squad that Bad now?

The 16 did look a lot stronger yesterday. it was nice to have on the bench Baker, Wood, Eastwood and Clarke. Bet that's as strong a bench as we've had all year.

    Nimmmeeelllyyy!!

They could indeed recall him though. After all, they only have 12 players covering the striking positions

Yep, he got everything pretty much spot-on yesterday.

    Nimmmeeelllyyy!!

Think people are getting a little carried away. It's just one game. I recall Leigh Jenkinson's step over having us all drooling after one game. Nimely was great yesterday, but it was just one game.

    Ratings

Don't get the Clingan marks. Apart from some very good corners he put in I thought he was distinctly average and a couple of mistakes lead to Boro chances that could well have ended in goals.

He is doing the best he can do. Whether that is good enough is still open to question, as is as to whether anyone can do any better or not.

    To the Football League Show

Any neutral watching that game will have thought Boro were all over us. They showed chance after chance for them, then showed our 3 goals and then only when we had the 3 goals did they show any further opportunities. The game was a lot more one sided than was portrayed on that show. Yes, Boro...

Manager's don't half talk some crap at times

Just saying all managers talk crap at times.

    Damn you FA Cup!

Wouldn't give fans much time to buy tickets and arrange babysitters etc.

    Pompey

What so Sunderland can call us cheats yet again? Rather take our own chances to be honest, but guess we'll grab anything going in our favour at the moment. Don't wish ill on any club, but it is self-inflicted. Splashing money around like it was water.

Manager's don't half talk some crap at times

Just heard Mick McCarthy asking where Lady Luck was today for his team ."Penalty, sending off, carried off" he bemoaned. "Where was Lady Luck today?" Hmmmmm.. Crystal clear penalty. As clear as the nose on your face. No doubt whatsoever. Sending off. Clear sending off...

His screwed shot was truly awful. After that though he played quite well and that pass was sublime from the right wing to set up that chance.

could the great escape be on?

It's just one game today. Yes, we played really well, yes let's all give plaudits, but, it was against 10 men and Boro have themselves been on a sticky run and we did have an own goal to our favour and we did possibly get some luck with the 2nd goal and it maybe not being over the line. Don't...

    Remaining Home Game

Ipswich, Leeds, Barnsley, Palace, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Peterborough, Millwall and Doncaster. I can see 4 wins out of that lot. Then maybe a couple of draws and 3 defeats. We need to start winning on our travels.

In line with all of the positive posts here's another !!

Didn't look over the line from where I was, but I did notice a lack of complaining from the Boro players.

Can someone give the marks out of ten for those of us that didn't make it

No bad performances I would say. Clingan was a bit off the pace and drifted out of the game at times, but thought Platt and Nimely were both excellent and McShuff was always a problem for the Boro defence. Deegan had a good first half and Cranie and Keogh were both pretty solid at the back, as...
