Is the club ready for the premiership?

Haven't read the whole thread, so apologies if I'm repeating what others have said, but the only way to get ready for the PL, is by first getting into it, then using the income wisely enough to enable you to establish a foothold (even if that means the initial yoyo of relegation and promotion)...

    Championship thread 25/26!

I know it's not the Championship, but.... A Barcelona fan ended up attending an Exeter City match after appearing to mix up their St James Park stadium with Newcastle United’s home ground, St James’ Park. The unnamed Spanish supporter is said to have travelled from London to Devon with a...

They are awful. I sent my down in the dumps Leicester supporting mate (apologies to fellow City fans) that they would comfortably beat Bristol City, whose defence is injury ravaged, and they look totally deflated at the moment. You'll beat them by a minimum of 2 goals.

Looking at the extended highlights from their game, they really should have had a similar score to us (albeit Charlton were a lot more dogged than Preston)

Just imagine how good we'd be if we were the best team in the league

It has been nice to see Boro' up there this season. Much preferable to Southampton, Leicester, Sheff Utd, and some of the 'expected' teams. It would be great if us, Boro and Millwall could go up, just to shake things up a bit.

Was surprised Derby let him go - he seemed their main man when we last played them.

Scienza subbed in the first half with a groin injury for Southampton. Bonus!

Very easy win. Boro result was also like an additional 3 points for us. Have to say, as well as his crossing being excellent, Markello looked to have a bit of pace on him. Promising!

I remember him, and have told the tale of when we went to Crewe away ( in a blizzard) and a bloke stopped us in the street, on the way to the ground. ' Cov fans?' says the bloke. 'Yes', say we.. ' Heard of John O'Rourke?' ..yes again. Pulls out cards from wallet, showing his name ..' John...

Match Thread Coventry City - Preston North End FC Match Thread - Wednesday 11th Mar

To be fair, we may have struggled to smash teams, but when you look at our home record this season, we haven't really 'struggled'. All 3 of the drawn games, we should have won. Only the home game against Ipswich was a deserved defeat. With the right attitude this evening, we should be confident...

Statement signings if we go up?

Understand that, which is where we will have to look for players not currently on big wages - likely fringe PL players with potential, who want game time, or top end Championship players who we think can step up. Watford have one or two decent forwards with potential, as an example. Just need to...

Statement signings if we go up?

To be fair, suggesting some players who are currently on probably £100k a week (Mount etc) is pointless, as it's never going to happen. That's why I think the European leagues, where wages are a lot less, is the logical way to go.

'Fess up @Otis . Did you a shed load of cheap rail tickets for the play off final when we had that dodgy run in December, hoping to make a nice profit?

Statement signings if we go up?

That's why we might need to shop abroad. Existing PL players (agents) will try and milk us. In Doug we trust (mostly!)

    Championship thread 25/26!

And if they do, they may well derail Boro and Millwall in the process. Win tonight, and the margin for error (to quote Benjamin Bloom) increases substantially. Like others have said, the Saints and Swansea games are potential banana skins, yet if we win tonight, not potentially fatal.

Just watched the highlights from the Ipswich game - that penalty - I'd have been fuming. Hahahahaha. Could well be decisive imho.
