The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

And despite all that the pound was still stronger than it is today. So I ask again how was it worse? Probably a good idea to point out to you that I was replying to a comment that was made about a comment I made that was specifically about the pound.

The pound is at a 31 year low. How could things have been worse in 2008?

You are funny astute. I haven't shared my wisdom I've provided links to the currency market's and noted the sudden and dramatic linear drop in the value of the pound against everything, not just the dollar. That isn't wisdom, that's just stating the obvious.

I never said it wasn't bad I said it wasn't a crash. You on the other hand said it was a crash but the cliff we fell off after the brexit vote wasn't. Go figure. You've been using a couple of years of gradual decline to describe a crash but are in denial of the sudden and dramatic decline in a...

You do know that this thread is about brexit don't you? You do know we only had had that vote a couple of weeks ago not a couple of years? If you want to ask me if the import of raw materials have gone up over the last couple of years just ask me like an adult. Don't make out that I'm trying to...

If they give out medals for being an ignorant selfish prick you just picked up the gold. Well done.

I do accept that markets react I also accept (unlike you) that these reactions in the markets cause ripples outside of those markets. It doesn't all begin and end with the FTSE and currency market's, there's a real world outside of that and that is where the ripples are in reality felt the most...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

You are funny astute. You've just spent the last god knows how many page's denying that the pound has crashed. All I've done is point out the facts and provided links to them facts. You've even tried re-writing the definition of the word crash. As well as trying to redefine what constitutes...

So now you're saying that brexit has effected the value of the pound. Make your mind up.

The key words there being since April. Your trying to compare a fall that happened over months to a more severe fall the happened over days. That's the difference between decline and a crash. One is gradual one is sudden and dramatic. Go and buy a dictionary FFS.

23rd of June. What would you have got then? How was the pound compared to the rest of the world currency then? How was it a couple of days later?

I understand that and I'm not worked up that much about the exchange rate at the moment. Like I said it's the denial of the issue I have trouble with not the issue itself. At this moment in time it's not impacting on my cost of living so much but if it continues to bump along at current levels...

Twist what? I don't produce the graphs, control exchange rates etc. I've not twisted anything. I've provided links to official data that doesn't fit your denial that's all. So the exchange rate is worse than I thought. Thanks for the confirmation. I've got €540 euros left from last years...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I'm pretty much in the same place, although I voted remain as the lesser of two evils. What I have an issue with is the denial by some of what is currently happening in the economy. The denial that the pound has crashed when all you actually have to do is look at the tables of the last month...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

You are so full of nonsense and fail to grasp the basics of running a business. You completely prove the saying that you can't debate stupid. It's simple, if something cost more to build you have two choices, sell at the same price and cut your margins or put your prices up to maintain margin. I...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I'm saying that when you claim that a weak pound will help exports you're looking at it to simplistic. The opposite effect is that imports are more expensive and when the British manufacturing industry is heavily reliant on the import of raw materials and components it has to recuperate that...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Exactly. The most expensive component that we buy is 90% copper and that component is made in the UK but they buy the copper raw material in dollars but sell the completed component to us in pounds. This particular component hasn't gone up yet as the company we buy from still have copper stock...

The raw materials for components are mined all around the world and are traded in dollars. Like I've already told the other thick fuck try looking on the LME's website and seeing what currency metals are traded in.

The first price increase we've received was for a nickel based component and that so far has only increased 5% but we have been told in no uncertain terms that if the pound remains at current levels or drops further more price increases will come. This 5% is one product. The major metal we use...

Northern Ireland has a better GDP per capita than parts of England and Wales. Maybe we should cut Wales free as they're dragging us down? Or North East England perhaps?
