    L1 Manager Win Percentages

Like I said. The Venus stats flatter to deceive. Aside from those two lucky wins we were shit, didn't really look any better than we did under Slade. In fact I'd say Slade picked up where Venus left of. The only thing Venus managed that Slade and Robins didn't was new manager bounce. Once that...

    Smurthwaite v Fisher

He'll be bragging that he's breaking even. Trouble is he'll be breaking even the unbreakable parts.

    L1 Manager Win Percentages

The stats speak for themselves really. Why was Venus allowed to be in charge so long? Who appointed Slade? Who let Slade stay for so long? Who decided to go for Robins when it was too late? It wasn't the squad, it was those making the decisions of field.

    I think Burge is alright

Burge wasn't the issue last season. 7 teams conceded more goals than us last season. On Burge's form alone we were better than our final place in the league. You also have to consider how many goals were conceded from defensive errors, lots from what I recall. Especially when we conceded late...

    L1 Manager Win Percentages

Robins would have had this squad finish 16th then based on that form had he been here all season. The squad wasn't that bad of a reflection on the budget then. Just Mowbray lost interest, enthusiasm and direction, Venus didn't have a clue and his form flatters to decieve , Slade was just a major...

    Smurthwaite v Fisher

He's in the bicycle spares trade. He only sells seats and handlebars though because he doesn't sell the bottom of the cycle ;)

    I think Burge is alright

I don't mind him either. He's not amazing but he's no where near as bad as some like to make out he is. Just needs to be a bit more consistent for me. Still, with Oggy going he'll be England No.1 nailed on by the end of next season.

    The real retained list....

Reasonably happy with the list. Be nice to get Stokes and Burge confirmed and glad we'll see the back of Tudgay.

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

It's unbelievable the amount of people expecting a top six or eight finish from Robins. Inevitably it will be the same ones putting him on the pedestal pushing him off as happened with Mowbray.

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

It's a shame he doesn't have the same dignity as TM. He would have walked when the Sixfields experiment failed if he did.

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

Got rid of players for free? You mean there contracts had run out and we couldn't compete on wages to retain them because of budget constraints more like. Our budget this season was shit. That was obvious even in the summer, I tried pointing it out at the time and took flack for it from all...

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

I'm not saying its great. Just pointing out that under MR's it's far better. Robins also never had the opportunity to work with Sordel, he also didn't have the opportunity to tweak the squad in the January transfer window. If we'd recruited MR earlier, retained Sordel and had MR recruiting in...

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

Mowbray had limited choices last January. Not helped by selling Madison at the eleventh hour. Like I said in my OP, we needed to replace Reda/Turner not Madison. That makes retaining Madison irrelevant. As for the summer recruitment MR has them playing OK, certainly not looking like relegation...

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

Jones was a loan initially. No transfer was paid until the season ended. I would think that means that Jones came out of this seasons budget not last.

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

And that's probably just for starters. After 10 years of saying we've learned from our mistakes at some point it has to be reasonable to assume that it's been deliberate.

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

I was thinking more like selling Madison at the eleventh hour ensuring that there was no money available to suitably replace Reda/Turner meaning we had to choose from the shite in hope more than expectation.

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

If you were being cynical you would say it's almost as if they're actively trying to drag the club down. If you were being cynical. It certainly would explain a lot. Including how TF has been in a job so long. They were probably shitting it last season when we were flying and getting near 17K...
