Apparently Lee Hughes’ top flight record is 0 goals in 23 appearances. What does this tell us? Sadly we’ll never really know what aloisi would have been like as an alternative to Hughes. Although the benefit of hindsight is that at least we wouldn’t have eternally been linked to the baggies twat.

Monkhouse did have an incredible recall for jokes. I did enjoy it when monkhouse was on ‘have I got news for you’ shortly after he’d lost the book he recorded all his gags in. Paul Merton quipped that the thieves would get done for handling stolen goods!

We could/should have won! Having said that I would’ve taken that resul prior to kick off and we appear to be hitting some form at the right time.

I think it was the sheer number of jokes/gags he could recall and his dedication to performance. Might not have been your cup of tea, not mine particularly, but can’t deny his effort and i think there’s understandably a degree of nostalgia about his style.
