You can’t fight against human nature though really. I’d like to see schools open a lot more, a lot more visibility of people around the area but how do you do it naturally and not forced? The only thing going the other way is apps like Nextdoor and local Facebook groups which are hardly a...

Yeah thinking what I’ve had in the 18 months I’ve lived here it’s been court documents (that could easily have been sent through secure email), replacement credit/debit cards, and packages. Everything else was for the previous owners or spam. And I’d rather the replacement cards were sent...

It’s not a direct correlation though. We spend below the average on healthcare for example. We’re known for our shit roads and shut public infrastructure in general because of this attitude. Most spending on wages comes back to the government in taxes anyway. And wages aren’t 100% of costs so a...

It’s all over isn’t it? No church attendance, no milkman or postie, no local Bobby, even stuff like park rangers and bus conductors. Nothing going the other way. Not sure what you can do about it. As Nick says the vast majority just want their parcel quickly and tracked, want their buses cheaper...

    Favourite TV Christmas specials

BBC comedy has been poor for ages. This is what happens when you stop taking white men from Cambridge exclusively :P

I went axe throwing and beer pong. The beer pong was pretty crap, could’ve just stayed at home. The AR darts looks quite good. Axe throwing was OK but expensive for what it is and there’s someone there sucking all the fun out. A mate got kicked out for throwing the axes too hard.

But that’s Coventrys problem IMO. The town centre isn’t that big but there’s no concentration of bars really that I can see. A couple by the sky dome/soon street, a couple by high street/cathedral lanes, a couple by the bill yard, a couple elsewhere. Needs concentrating so you don’t have to go...

It’s not really the same. Just a room with axe throwing a couple of tiny crazy golf holes and things like that. Nothing like the scale of Teezers.

    Article on town centre development

Town desperately needs things that attract people in. Yes West Orchards is a bit far away but where else could you put something that size?

Or hold tax thresholds and earn more tax because prices and wages have gone up, like we have done. The fact we choose not to pass that on to budgets and therefore wages is entirely a political choice.

Let’s see what it is next season. But yeah point taken. I honestly don’t know the ins and outs of our finances to know if we’re better off than 2007. We obviously run a lot tighter on wages, does feel like we still lose money hand over fist though.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Not quite true, Caulfield said on R4 something along the lines of “we saw a few weeks ago what happens when a government borrows more than it can afford” Yes! Your govenrment! No one does self opposition like the Tories. Constantly pretending to be a new party shocked at the incompetence of...

Aside from anything else she went from 1% increase costing £700m to costing £800m in a matter of minutes. Talk about inflation!

Interesting thread. Don’t know much about the interest rate stuff, would be interested in someone tearing it apart. This is public sector more than RMT he’s talking about.

    Recommend a tv

Just get a ChromeCast or a fire stick if you want apps. In my experience smart tv UI/OS are universally awful.
