I've always liked Bob but the question that bid asks the club is, do you think Hughes is better than Thomas and could we get him? If the answer is yes then you take the chance and flip him, if not you keep him.
You make it work for you, basically.
Something seems off about it though, if we're talking about flipping him to go for Hughes then i don't get why the Blunts wouldn't just go straight for Hughes, who they were also linked with.
I'm pretty sure you know the difference. We'd be able to replace Thomas with as good or better for that kind of money for starters. It's one that could work for us, the Rudoni one does nothing for us.
I will be annoyed at Sheffield United fans thinking they've get one over on us if it happens. We would have to go and get Hughes, we couldn't allow them to get both.
Yes this is the thing, its getting late in the window for these kind of outward moves, 2 of the back 4 that started Hull could be gone. Will take a while for any new player to bed in too.
If we want to wash our hands of him i'd be pretty certain a youth international would be fairly well regarded in his home country and we could at least recover most of the fee.
Probably suggests members of this forum should have at least tempered their masturbation over the Kvistgaarden signing.
Really hard to tell how players will adapt to what is quite obviously a fairly large step up.
I'm always wary of the teenager from the Prem loan signings. Many go on to have excellent careers but The Championship is not an easy league to just step into.
