The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

It’s economics at a very basic level. I’m not sure how some people survive in the real world.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

You tell me. You’re the one making it up as you go along. What is it then?

Second referendum : am I missing something ?

You said 1 in 5 earlier. And you’ve misunderstood the question anyway.

Second referendum : am I missing something ?

It’s WTO terms not a trade embargo. They’ll still be selling cars here. Maybe not as many but people will still be buying them.

Second referendum : am I missing something ?

Again. A percentage. We’re not shutting the border to German products we’ll be applying a tariff that some will be willing to pay when purchasing German goods and others won’t. It’s not a trade embargo it’s WTO terms. Distinct difference. Or do you think we’re going to lose £274B of exports...

Second referendum : am I missing something ?

Again with the putting words in people’s mouths. I stated quite deliberately it would hurt. You also seem to be assuming that no deal would mean Germany would have to stop selling cars into the U.K. overnight. No doubt I it would effect sales but it won’t drop to zero so Germany won’t lose £36B...

Second referendum : am I missing something ?

I think you’re confusing mark up with profit if you think it isn’t far of.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Greenland were never even in the EU you blithering idiot. 26 obviously doesn’t cover Germany. I’m clearly talking about the other 26 members voting in favour of 1 member for the benefit of 0.2% of the EU’s exports. Maybe you can manage 26+1 without my assistance.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Left the EEC not the EU you idiot. Possibly a double idiot because I’m pretty sure Greenland isn’t a country it’s an overseas territory of Denmark.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Ok you didn’t specifically say BMW you were talking about the German car manufacturing industry as a whole but a little bit of poetic license aside the point stands. We’re talking about a percentage of a percentage of a percentage of a percentage of 4%. If Grendull is correct profit is another...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Why do you continually try to put words in people’s mouths? That’s not what I said at all. They only ever come down if there’s a long run on the falling price of crude oil. It’s always slow to happen, is never as much as a percentage and never linear. When the barrel price goes up the pump...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Watching her on the news last night I actually ended up feeling sorry for her. She looked like she was about to cry. I couldn’t work out if it was through anger, despair or a bit of both. Either way I felt sorry for her and the truth is whoever took this on as PM was always going to be between a...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

This should be good. Are you saying a country has left or are you saying that a country hasn’t left? Still waiting for you to tell me what country has left on the other thread.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I’ve been making this exact point to you on the other thread and you dismissed it instead trying to make out that a free trade deal with the EU hinges on BMW sales and the other 26 nations are irrelevant. Yet turn to another thread and you’re using my argument as a fact. More faces than Big Ben...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

No. Your assumption is that goods that all of a sudden become 30% cheaper at ports because a tariff is no longer applied is going to be a cost saving passed onto the consumer. If you want an example of this look at the cost of petrol at the pump. When the barrel price of crude oil goes up...

Second referendum : am I missing something ?

I’m sure. But it’s still another percentage to add into the equation. I doubt German car makers are making 100% profit on cars sold into the U.K.

Second referendum : am I missing something ?

What’s the relevance of Greenland? Profit margin you say. I’ll take you at your word on that one. That’s another percentage to add into the equation then. I wonder how many decimal places we’re at now? I was thinking with a finger in the air 0.0, add your percentage into it we’re probably at...

Second referendum : am I missing something ?

Sorry I meant what percentage of Germany’s exports in total are made up by the car industry. Not to individual countries. I’ve read the one in five cars made in Germany are exported to the U.K. before so it could be right. But I also read another article at about the same time which claimed 1...

Second referendum : am I missing something ?

Mart do you know what percentage of Germany’s exports are made up from the motor industry? I can’t find anything definitive but keep seeing figures quoted at around 12-15% of all exports which I thought was too low.

Second referendum : am I missing something ?

Which is a percentage of Germany’s industry which is a percentage of 26 nations who’s combined exports to the U.K. is 4% of total exports. What planet are you on where you think 0.0 something is going to dictate 100% of a trade deal.?
