I think that’s harsh on Eccles. He’s got a good cross, solid defensively and good interplay and movement. I think DM and wingback roles are very similar in many ways hence quite a few players moving between them. I also think he’s not getting in ahead of Gus or Sheaf and it’s better for his...

I don’t mean every player is a success. But Gus moved from RWB to CM, Maatsen from LWB to AM, I think Eccles is a decent RWB (which is what inspired the post). Away from CCFC Henry is a famous example. It’s about the qualities a player has rather than a strict position IMO.

I think several players have shown it’s fairly easy to adapt to another position. No idea why it’s got this reaction.

Oh I’ve got a thread winner: CCC and Wasps acted rationally from their position and Sisu were entirely to blame for the ground mess. Up to and including Ashley buying it. And scarpered as soon as they realised they’d failed. On a lighter note: “natural position” is mostly bollocks, especially...

Go three in the middle with Palmer deeper and two strikers for me.

His two “key passes” were three yards to Vik and a ball across the six yard box when put through by Gus. I’ll credit him with the run to be there for that ball but he’s hardly threading balls through the defence or creating his own chances. I’m not sure what other pass you’d have made there to...

    RWB Position

It’s the robins way. 5 defenders 3 DMs and hope one AM and one ST can break them down.

    RWB Position

Eccles is ten times the player BNC is. Seen nothing either going forwards or defending from him at all. Always tries to over play it in dangerous areas, never seems to get a tackle in, don’t think he’s beaten a man for pace yet. Even Ryan Giles had that one run and cross.

Well you’d think wrong. The couple of times I’ve thought he’s had a good game I’ve said so. But I’m done watching him utterly fail to impact a game and constantly lose control of the ball and break down our attacking flow. So when he does that I’ll say because I’ve not taken it as a personal...

    Their goal last night

It was bad all round and not the first time that back line has been exposed by a simple ball across in the air. No one attacked it, Wilson didn’t command his six yard area and BNC lost his man at the back stick.

He did not create the second, the WBA player who made a terrible pass made the second. Palmer continually drew fouls and nearly scored if his shot wasn’t blocked, he also tried to break the lines something Allen never does. Always sideways and backwards which for an AM is criminal. Allen look...

Well technically speaking Gus and the West Brom defender made the two best chances. Allen made two simple passes. Regardless, what did he do for the other 95 minutes and 45 seconds?

Send BNC and JWE back TBH. Seen nothing to suggest they’re the answer. He was head and shoulders above the rest so he gets a comparative 7. He did more to get us ticking than anyone else. He made some bad passes that’s why he’s not higher but he actually tried to make things happen. I don’t...
