Must be so much more fun for him playing in this team.
As you say, he's got RV alongside him doing all the dirty work and he's got players in front of him all making runs into space opening up options.
Last year there seemed to be times when our forwards were much less mobile than the traffic...
Last week was awful, but we have to keep these things in some sort of perspective.
I've got a 60 mile drive to the game and I'm much much more likely to end up in a fatal car accident than be blown up or shot by some fundamentalist nutter!
Always liked Bigi.
You could see him fitting into TM's style of play.
Things obviously haven't worked out for him at Newcastle, maybe this is a loan with a view to making it permanent?
When I moved away - in the pre-Internet days - he'd ring me when we scored (listening on local radio).
i remember us playing Crewe in a league cup game in the mid 80's, where after a flurry of goals he said this is getting too expensive, I'll call you at the end.
i think we won 7-2 and Cyrille...
Going to be strange tomorrow.
Either went to games with my Dad or - if he wasn't up to it - rang him on the way home to tell him about the game.
He passed away yesterday.
Saw his first City game in 1933, so he saw a few ups and downs.
I remember Bobby Parker.
Captained the England youth team IIRC.
Was talked about as "the new Bobby Moore".
Decent player, but as you say, it never quite happened for him.
Was that the home game that was our first after relegation - the week after we won at Stockport?
If so, I'm not sure it supports the point it was intended to, as that was a capacity crowd at Highfield Road as I recall.
He let a lot go.
In the first half their left back was constantly and blatantly blocking Lamieras off the ball. This was right in front of the Linesman.
How he kept getting away with it.......?????
Agree entirely.
Their keeper would not have been booked yesterday without the barracking he (and the ref) was getting for his time wasting.
It shouldn't make a difference - but it does!
