Where did you live in Redford? I was living on Lydgate Road at that time.

Interesting, and well done Hampshire boys. I live near Newcastle and get to as many games as I can, mainly away - which means that over the last few (many) years, I've seen very few victories!

Match Thread Coventry City - Port Vale Match Thread - Saturday 9th Sep

That was something I noticed at Grimsby. We scored 1 and went looking for more, scored a second and kept going forward, whereas in the past, we've sat back when 1-0 up. Need to score first, perhaps?

    Lee Burge

Like having Burge in goal was not the only reason we were relegated. As well as 37 goals scored, a poor defence in front of him, and disastrous recruitment that left us poorly equipped in a physical and competitive league. I know that Burge needs to continue to improve, but anyone heard of 'give...

    Kwame to Sutton

Yeh, the evidence is pretty conclusive, eh? And besides, he does that silly little 'aren't I great' dance when he is occasionally on the pitch and occasionally scores!

My mum lives in South London, it's an absolute pig to drive to. If I could go by rail I would.

Can't make the game today, in deepest darkest Cornwall. Hope that all City fans, particularly those making a long journey, have a great day, perhaps a game where we've just about won the game by half time, and can really enjoy the second half. Having said all of that, if we do win, you're more...

    Tim Fisher

It's interesting this, at Bury last year, there was a load of abuse and sarcasm for the team in the first half, we were losing 2-0 ( when Burge went into the back of his net to pick up his bottle/ towel at half time, half a dozen young adults rushed forward and screamed abuse in his face - he...

    An Evening with Kevin Keegan'

Kevin Keegan? Great choice, excellent footballer, seen and done it all, then managed a top team in the Premier League. Should be interesting to hear his take on the famous 'I would luv it' episode. I met him once in Newcastle, very nice, approachable, grounded man. What's not to like?

A female's perspective on some of our fans

On the theme of women at Cov games, my wife attended her first game with me against Everton at Highfield Road, when we won to stay up. At the time she used to say to her friends that she enjoyed going to games because we seemed to be a famiky oriented club, lots of women and children. She...

A female's perspective on some of our fans

I know that you are absolutely right RSB, but I've got to be honest, when I saw the hate on the faces of the people beside me, I wanted to remonstrate with them, but I knew that if I did, I would get a wackin. The fact that I'm Cov would make no difference to these people. Sorry, I know it's...

A female's perspective on some of our fans

I went to Oxford last year, and posted afterwards about how distressing it was to see the way a sizable minority abused our players at the end of the game. The sight of grown men screaming abuse, and making obscene gestures at Cain Harris, as he left the pitch, was just terrible. I think Q70...

    Booing of team... some thoughts

I was embarrassed at Grimsby because we were so over the top on the back of two wins, and embarrassed at Chesterfield to see the abuse after a 0-0 draw. How can anyone think it does any good? Why do the people who spit out the venomous abuse come. How about supporting the team through thick and...

    Booing of team... some thoughts

Yes, we just weren't equipped to compete last season, too young and inexperienced/lightweight. Blame poor recruitment which left us short.

Match Thread Yeovil Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 26th Aug

You're right Steve, I was concerned at Grimsby, as despite having so much possession, we showed little creativity or cutting edge. We scored from a horrendous defensive error, and from a set piece. This lack of creativity has shown through in the last two games.

You're absolutely right weeman, these two posters need to get a grip!

    Anybody fancy some Kipling?

'if you can meet with triumph and disaster, and treat those two imposters just the same....' We were overblown with confidence after two games, and now amongst some, it's all doom and gloom. I'm not sure of the quality of the teams in this league, but I do believe that teams will be well...
