BBC League 1 Predictor - Where will we Finish?

... Because coming top 6 is like winning the CL! The players think they can achieve promotion, I guarantee MR and co. believe it is achievable, I guess it's only the fans who are cynical because of past failures. This is a new dawn for CCFC.

Wasn't directly aimed at you, more a general statement because some have said top 6 would be a great achievement.

BBC League 1 Predictor - Where will we Finish?

I think 3rd-4th is realistic, but as I said, top 2 is achievable, given the resources, management and playing staff in this league. I don't believe we'll get top 2 yet, but I certainly think we can push them. But believing we'll just sneak 6th is a slightly cynical don't you think?

BBC League 1 Predictor - Where will we Finish?

We've ground out 2 games in a row haven't we? Could these 2 home wins, that we ground out for be a turning point in our season? Defence needs to be sorted out, agreed, but 1 positive, is we don't really concede more than 1 goal, and we usually score 2, also, we have conceded many a goals when...

Psychologically? I don't see how 30 years of not achieving top 6 in the top division will have any impact on them, to be frank, I'm not even sure they even know that to have it resting on their minds. We're in a division there for the taking, we're better than at least 22 teams.

BBC League 1 Predictor - Where will we Finish?

We're 7th now with a very important month ahead of us, to move up 1 place by April would not be a 'great effort', seeing as a promotion push (top 4) is achievable, no doubt. It is clear I have higher expectations than most, but I am completely convinced that MR can do a Brian McDermott!

BBC League 1 Predictor - Where will we Finish?

The history is a moot point, we've been the top division for 30 of the 40 years we haven't come top 6? This team hasn't completed a season together yet, so it hasn't had a finish in the league yet, we have the manager and the squad to do it, we whooped Donny and beat Tranmere, we have the a lot...

BBC League 1 Predictor - Where will we Finish?

I'm not saying that helps my argument, I'm just pointing out how much of a difference 6 points are, we have play every team above us bar MKD & Tanmere, if that's a good thing, is up to the individual. I think our one form is going to improve from now, and I think we'll kick on away to...

BBC League 1 Predictor - Where will we Finish?

6th would be massive? Not really, standard procedure to be frank. To put it into context, hadn't have had our wobble and beaten Carlisle & Shrews, we could've been 3rd (4th deffo) so no, to as we have 0% chance is wrong. I have a feeling many Reading fans would've been saying things like...

Points Needed To Finish In The Top 6 And The Top 2

I don't think that should be the case, we should get in the playoffs ASAP, then take it 1 game at a time, and hopefully we give it right go, we're 13 off the top and tha isn't impossible to catch up with, I do believe Reading were in a similar, in fact worse off position than us. If L. Clarke...

    Crewe away leg.

Ok fair enough, I suspected work, membership is ideal if you live away, at uni, or have a job where you work Saturdays. Or if the individual just can't be arsed with a ST, always felt a membership is for teams where you struggle to get tickets e.g. Spurs, Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool etc...

BBC League 1 Predictor - Where will we Finish?

I agree, but if we take it 1 game at a time, we could do it. I've always felt that the top teams have been weak, Brentford lost, Tranmere aren't great, Donny (we beat them 4-1) Sheff U may be cracking - again! I think the teams with games in hand will get tired with the fixture congestion...

Does it outweigh Fleck's 3-4 good passes and shot? Not really, not 2-3 points difference. I don't think neither of us are in a position to 'big up' Fleck or Sheff, none played particularly well, if we're going to be blunt about it. In fact, a lot of people are being very generous with...

BBC League 1 Predictor - Where will we Finish?

I think if we beat PNE and Sheff U on the trot, it could set us up for a massive automatic promotion drive. I did say 'top 4' by Sheff U, that is slightly off, BUT, that was only because of surprise losses v Carlisle and Shrews! We definetly need to take it 1 game at a time...

Points Needed For A Top 6 Finish Over The Last 8 Years

They have to win those games though. Another factor is when they play those games, we could be 'out of their reach' by the time they play there games. Not to mention they'll have fixture congestion later on in the season. Good news for us, we have to play a lot of the teams around us in Feb.

    Torchomatic/Otis .......

Obviously it is 'acceptable' if you have to be somewhere, my post was aimed at those who left 'because we were playing shit', it's rather pointless to leave 4m early, may as well stick it out.

Not at all, I thought Sheff played ok, I have since praised him on the assists front. The people I sat with were in agreement he was playing well, including an anti-Flecker. Thing is, I can admit when Sheff plays well, you can't admit Fleck plays well when he plays well, that's the difference.
