    AFC Coventry

Not talking about abandoning CCFC. Wasn't trying to offer AFC Coventry as an alternative, only if we no longer had a club. If CCFC no longer was in existence. I think if we no longer had a club the fanbase would be very good indeed for a non league team.

    Why on the GMK forum

Yes it has. But don't you find the prospect of starting out completely afresh exciting?

    AFC Coventry

    We would be Coventry Phoenix.

Was just a scenario though of if CCFC didn't exist anymore, Stu. Of course we want them to exist and it would be very, very unlikely the club will ever go bust, but just thought it would be interesting to gauge how many people would follow a new AFC club.

Our current squad IS good enough to survive.

Yep. Getting a little fed up with all this 'unlucky' tag. We have not bee unlucky. We have not been good enough.

    Why on the GMK forum

Exactly. We have had to endure that for 11 years in the Championship. Why would it be such a problem with a completely fresh start and the backroom team and board the fans want behind the scenes?

    AFC Coventry

Agree. Don't see how we can just throw our weight around and take over another club.

    Why on the GMK forum

Push through the leagues? You just get a good squad together and give yourselves about 8-10 years to get back to a competitive level, i.e. Conference.

    AFC Coventry

Agree. i would find the whole thing exciting after so much turmoil for what seems like an eternity.

    AFC Coventry

Think we need to put all that to one side and deal with the here and now to be honest.

    AFC Coventry

Me too, Edgy. Not so sure about just muscling in on Cov Sphinx. Would need their approval. AFC Coventry would still be Coventry City FC and sill the Sky Blues, Not so sure I like the idea of just 'taking over' another club. Sphinx would have to be completely onboard with it.

    AFC Coventry

Okay, following on from another post in a thread about our woes, should CCFC no longer exist and an AFC Coventry were to be formed, competing at a very low non-league level, would you still go up and support them? A definite yes from me. So, yay or nay?

    Why on the GMK forum

If we could do what Wimbledon have done then great. big if though. Anyway, should CCFC no longer exist and AFC Coventry were formed then I would be there.

Our current squad IS good enough to survive.

Anyone else fear that if Thorn goes a new manager might give Eastwood yet another chance? :o After all, he has all the attributes and skills to be a top player in this division.

Our current squad IS good enough to survive.

Disagree, Platt. This squad isn't good enough. We have a few good players and some promising youngsters, but we don't have enough of them. Juke, Cranie, Keogh, Clingan and then the kids, Christie, Thomas and Bigi, but that's about it and remember these kids are still kids so are prone to...

If Thorn has nothing to work with?

Thing is, he has got something to work with. Just not a lot. Players worth their salt here you would have to say are Juke, Bigi, Christie, Keogh, Cranie and Clingan That's about it. So, Thorn does have some good players here, just not enough of them.

There is some good news !

We will take it seriously. But will then go on to lose in the first round.

    Anti-Thorn caller on the radio.....

Could we though? BBC is reporting that we had one shot on target in the entire 90 minutes.

    4 Points From Safety...

Yes, sorry, what I meant was that a win against Southampton would be momentous, but after such a fantastic effort we would still be in the bottom 3.
  20. Otis

The way I see it ...

Cool. We were 2nd favourites to go down and we are 3rd from bottom. We have exceeded ourselves.:D
