He Scored Yesterday -- get him back and get Clarke out!!!!!!

I'd even contest the effort he put in, he certainly lived up to his nickname 'the tree'.

    Bradley wright-Phillips

I'd welcome this signing, hopefully with a view to a permanent, but, alas, it probably won't happen.

    Night of Long Knives*

Well said, something that's bugged me about fans for a long time, I don't know if it's just English/British fans but look at Dirk Kuyt, fan favourite at Liverpool, ran his socks off, scored fuck all and had no attributes to play wing, terrible player for LFC. Only thing about Clarke is, I...

1 of his 4 goals was off the bench, so shall we discount that, and say, 3 in 13? When you're not 1st choice scoring off the bench is where you break into the starting XI, or doing well in the absence of an injured or suspended player, which Elliott did somewhat.

    Night of Long Knives*

Night of Long Knives is the purges Hitler did in 1934, when he removed 'political enemies and threats'. That cabinet reshuffle was probably taking the piss out of MacMillian.

    Night of Long Knives*

Considering Clarke has more goals than Elliott, I don't think that is all that is needed. CT, Fleck, J. Clarke, Elliott and Cameron to start!? At least 2-3 to start IMO. I fear that some players have got way too comfortable with their starting position.

    Night of Long Knives*

Is needed at CCFC? Should we make some changes to our starting XI v Bury? Any one agree? *this does not involve killing anyone for anyone who takes the title seriously. I got it from the commentary of France v Wales (6 Nations) and liked it, so I stole it ;)

    Leon Clarke

True. BUT, we don't have a team to play his strengths - that's the problem! As I've said a fair few times, we're adapting the way we play for 1 player but suiting that 1 player doesn't suit the other 10!

Save the pie till after the game! They sell for £1.

    Wing backs

No it's not because the shape is different. Flat 3 in midfield, with Bailey a bit back and I'd partner him with Thomas, and Moussa OR Fleck or Barton, so there's a balence in midfield, front 3 would be Baker, Clarke or Elliott (more Clarke tbh) and Moussa OR Sheff. I'd have the same shape...

    With and Without DMC

Apparently we offered 10k, don't know the validity of this but I don't think it is too unbelievable, I think had we kept McG, I think automatic promotion was a real possibility because then we were a constant threat, scoring, literally, for fun, now, we are pretty impotent, with the goals...

    Wing backs

I think 4-3-3 could be a viable option for CCFC.

Preston, not sure about Sheff U, did pull in an above average crowd for a midweek game.

    points of concern

I guess you'd say the same about Barcelona, or, because I know people will say 'we're not Barca', Swansea, Leon Britton went from getting relegated with Sheff U, to having a better pass % than Xavi!
  15. Mucca Mad Boys

    points of concern

He's changed as a footballer since then so has had to adapt his game. Decent footballers, as 4-4-2 and triangular passing do not go together, the very tactic all of best teams, and why 4-2-3-1 came from 4-4-2. BTW, I mean footballers, not hoofballers (or 'kick and rush' players), cannot play...

Not a fashionable game to go to is it, I didn't even try to get time off work for that one. Crewe was a good game for some neutrals who wanted to go to a football game of importance, for a £5 it is good money. What I didn't mention was that there was a desire of SOME of the people I know...
  17. Mucca Mad Boys

    points of concern

Your point on Sheff is interesting, I agree he can't play in 4-4-2, like the vast majority in our team hence why we are impotent when playing it, but he's only scored 1 goal this season, v Pompey and hasn't scored as many as expected and I'm unsure if he deserves to start tbh.

To think everyone who went actually supports Cov is wrong, a few rugby lads I know and lads from school who don't even like football, let alone CCFC went. £5, you CAN'T go wrong, even with hindsight.

He Scored Yesterday -- get him back and get Clarke out!!!!!!

How incorrect is that statement! He doesn't have good control, and was no where near as good in the air or holding it up as Juke who was smaller and less physically imposing. Clarke can finish, scores goals, Platt doesn't! Delusional pal. Clarke League 2 at best!? He's the top...

He Scored Yesterday -- get him back and get Clarke out!!!!!!

I reject that notion. He had less than 1 shot per match and less than 0.5 shots on target, with a grand total of 1 assist last season. Impotent is the word. EDIT: has 17 shots in 26 games in L2, scoring 4, with 3 assists - in League 2! Shows how shit we were last season to have him starting.
