    General Election 2019 thread

This story just won’t die, sounding like it might blow up again this week as she’s in the country answering questions with the Department of Media, Sports and Culture Boris Johnson 'cast Jennifer Arcuri aside "like one night stand" after affair'

Back at the Ricoh in January

Not that long ago Vodafone pulled out of a stadium sponsorship of West Ham’s ground for £25M so no way they’re going to cough up £20M for the Ricoh.

I did spit it out. You clearly live on your own. I have a family, that means that often 4 people want/need to use the internet at the same time. My kids need internet access with a PC to do their homework so we still need broadband through the traditional telephone line. That’s not being lazy...

I assume you mean split it? So basically we’re back to £30 a month. Which is where I’m at anyway, except now only two of us can use it at anyone time so I’m not getting value for money despite apparently not being lazy I’ve got a worse deal. What was your point again?

The majority. America is an exception in the big scheme of things not the norm.

    General Election 2019 thread

Good for you, you’re clearly a lonely individual. I have a wife and 2 children so using your “un-lazy” method I’m already £30 a month down. Then my children need a PC and internet access to do their homework as a large percentage of it is done online. So I still need to pay £30 a month anyway...

Tory hero Harold MacMillan would have been labelled a Communist by Boris if he suggested a government funded house building project the size of the one he oversaw as a conservative housing minister should happen today on an equivalent scale based on population. It’s a measure of how far the...

Another thing. Look how those countries in the top ten world happiness report also measure in other yard stick reports of what makes a country good and decent. It’s the same countries again and again.

    General Election 2019 thread

At the end of the day what really matters in life is happiness and actually there’s a really simple mechanism at hand to measure that against politics. The UN world happiness report. Just look at the top ten and then look at the politics of those countries. Surprisingly (or not, if you pay...

I know someone who lives in Spain and pays similar, it’s also ultra fast fibre optic broadband as almost 90% of homes in basket case Spain has fibre optic compared to about 8% in the U.K.. Mind you I say basket case but we’re catching them up in the how many general elections can you have in...

    Killers to play the Ricoh

Take them or leave them band for me the Killers are. Saw the Manics many year’s ago at the Wolverhampton Civic hall, in fact it was that long ago that there was four of them and they’d only released one album. They were excellent I have to say. Not sure how they’ve aged though.

    General Election 2019 thread

I was reading that the average cost of broadband per month in the U.K. per household is £30, or £360 a year if you prefer. That sounds more like a tax cut than a tax rise to me.

Brexit will have cost an estimated £2B by the time it happens and then we’ve got to deal with the cost of living it for which the government has set aside an initial £3B with this amount set to multiply multiple times as the reality of Brexit hits home.

Apparently free broadband means we’re communist. What a snowflake.

    General Election 2019 thread

Well, some radical new thinking in the supply of broadband is way overdue in terms of speed and costs. Countries like Spain are about 90% fibre optic delivering faster broadband over a vast country to the masses. We’ve got farmers who can’t do their accounts online because they’re basically on...
