    66 World Cup final

Yes. But at the end of me tether as they keep bringing in Gabby bluddy Yorath to gurn and splutter incoherently about f-all relevant. Pissed off with turning the sound off Good memories of dashing back from holiday in Norfolk to watch it though.

    Wasps downward spiral...

I loved the fact that he said he'd thought long and hard about the title, and then came up with 'Cov FC' FFS. Cov FC have played just once at the Ricoh (hopefully never again). Just shows the knowledge levels of these clowns. Knob.

Just how big is our fan base ?

I'm 6ft 1in (and a half. Don't forget the half). I've put on a stone since lockdown through eating half my bodyweight in cake and biscuits and drowning in cider and Jameson's. Shit, I'm gonna have to sort my fat bastard self out soon.

Black Prince pub in tile hill

One of our favourites was to get a large-ish ball bearing, hold the inner race, and spin up the outer to a zillion rpm with an airline. Then you let it go up the gangway running the 300 yard length of the shop. By God, they went like fck, and would almost certainly kill someone who got in the...

Black Prince pub in tile hill

I did my apprenticeship at Edgwick, Herberts, finishing it in '73, and going straight onto permanent nights for about three years. Never saw anyone with or in a sleeping bag, but yes, many took the piss somewhat. It was never a big nightshift as such, mostly concentrated around bays 1 to about...

Black Prince pub in tile hill

I was one of the soft lads in the offices by then. Had had enough of the shop floor and had applied for a job as a Technical Author. Initially we were right next to the canteen on Widd Rd. My seat afforded me a view of the canal and Cash's Lane. Later we were moved to some derelict old offices...

Black Prince pub in tile hill

I could see the back of the Green Man from our back garden (Pearson Avenue) before they built the houses between us. Used to scrump apples there as a kid, and drink there regularly from 1970 on.

Black Prince pub in tile hill

Originally the Daimler Motor Hotel. Used to use it regularly when I worked at the Climax and at Jag Radford. Keith Fairbrother used to prop the bar when he wasn't propping for Cov, Warks, or England.

We've probably met then. Part of our roundabout crawl back then including the Acorn, The Jolly Colliers, The Crown, the Miners Arms, and the Green Man. Some variable styles and qualities there!

Bands And Artists You Like Or Dislike ?

Old enough. (Put it this way, we moved to Cov 10 years before we made it to the first division). They were no great shakes, but better than PAC. Just.

Bands And Artists You Like Or Dislike ?

Ha, had forgotten them. Formerly known as the Cliftones (after Clifton Hall), and Robbie Hood and his Merry Men! Used to play at The Woolpack regularly. One of my favourite pubs in the early seventies (think Dive Bar...).

Floyd, Dylan, Fleetwood Mac (but only Greeny era), Dire Straits, Chris Rea, Mark Knopfler, David Knopfler, Nazareth, Man, Moody Blues, Steve Winwood, Neil Young, Peter Gabriel, Level 42, Bob Marley, Sabbath, Groundhogs, Edgar Broughton Band... where do I stop? Can't stand rap, and all the...

    Not using Cash since lockdown

I recall having a fiver left in my wallet after my last time out, pre lockdown, and picking up £100 from the hole in the wall on the way home. Just checked my wallet, and there's £100 in it. Own up. Who nicked that fiver?
