I ate at a pub like that recently, tables very close together. Guy next to me spent the evening slagging someone I knew off who worked at Jaguar, and I found out the guy was about to "be put on gardening leave". Not sure he knew that himself at the time.

Used to go to the "townies" reunion at London Road club. It was held for everyone that Used to frequent the town in the 70's. Great fun seeing a lot of the old faces you recognised even if you didn't actually know them well at the time. Probably about 100 or so people turned up each time.

I'm not trying to "make out" anything Nick. I gave it as a possible reason as to why he chased those players, IF his budget had changed.

It's funny you should say that, as I mentioned on another thread that I had heard his budget had been halved for this season. If that was true, or even close to being true, I guess it would depend on when he was told that, to decide if he was going after the wrong players or not.

The only problem with this last, is that most people thought Murphy was a "real" keeper. He was certainly experienced, yet he gave away lots of goals by making mistakes.

Actually, reminds me of a mate of a mate when I was 18 or so... He also had a motorcycle accident, and was "killed". He woke up on a slab in the morgue. Surprised quite a few people that did..
