how? the overload would be a cb

If we saw him as a 6 who played a HB role where he starts as a CDM and can step back to make it a 3 in possession allowing both fullbacks to stay high while offering a bit more cover at the back. Could work, he has the pass range.

As discussed earlier that would leave teams able to double up on Haji.

This is the point I have made, unless we change tactics he doesn't suit us as a LB

To be fair GIMOC was well out in front on Binks

We don't even know we have approached Man City and you brought up his performances at Leicester last year so Ki was just explaining the differences in tactics and why a LCB was able to look okay at LB for them.

    Callum Doyle

Not really, he would have the same issue which is the RW can double up if needed blocking off space.

No I have not, MvE goes forward wide. What the Leicester RB did was step into CM mujch like TAA does for Liverpool. MvE goes outside Saka which creates space for Saka.

Yes, but Leicester's tactics was to put the rb in to a cm role which then meant a cb or a full back then had to go out of position to cover as Leicester would have 4 men standing in CM creating an overload. This then creates space for the CF or wide players to move into. We don't do that so the...

And he and Haji are different players.

Bidwell get's forward though, Doyle as I said while effective is not going to. He's going to play as LCB when we have the ball. That is what he did for Leicester. He made it a back 3 and the RB stepped into midfield.

    That's why they cost more.

    Callum Doyle

Can't see it based on wages, him wanting to be a CB and him not really have the pace to be a LB in the way we play. If he plays LB he is a LB in a 4 when defending then he steps in LB in a 3 when attacking. That will reduce Haji's effectiveness on the left as there is no on going outside to...

Lot's of managers these days don't think it's fine to have 2 right footers, this is why we have signed 2 left footers to share lcb. It's to do with improved passing lanes. It wasn't so much a concern in the past but with the way teams build up from the back it's a concern for a lot of managers...

We will have the CBs to play a 5 is needed but it just seems to me they know we need another rcb first that then gives us 5 who can play there meaning we can switch to a back 3 if needed

    Callum O'Hare

we seem to be recruiting for a 4 so can't see it
  18. David O'Day

    Callum O'Hare

Doyle isn't quick enough to play LB for us either, he's fine for a system like Man City's or Lesta's last year where the LB is a LCB when they have the ball but he really doesn't suit our system.
  19. David O'Day

    Callum O'Hare

File Doyle under likely nonsense. He wants to play CB and he is a CB, we have 2 LCBs. He is on loads of money so the same issues as Worrell remain
