    New Labour Leader

He’s the only one that possibly can from the Democrats.
  2. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

Starmer is going to get my vote, he always was when the final list of candidates came through. I don’t think RLB is the answer... not as a leader anyway. I will always be thankful for Corbyn for 2 things. 1) inspiring young people to care about politics again 2) finally setting a clear...
  3. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

He doesn’t need to anything quickly - we’ve got 5 years of Boris to fuck things up now.
  4. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

Yes it has to bridge a gap between the 2 I agree. But saying we didn’t listen to the PV campaign (which essentially it is) is pretty daft considering we just got whooped for not respecting the Brexit vote.
  5. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

They won’t ever be able to make enough gains in ‘middle class’ England to negate losses in Northern England, Wales or Scotland.
  6. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

With respect - Starmer suggesting that Labour should have listened to ‘middle class’ voters more during 2019 suggests that he isn’t learning any lessons either...

    Police

They were 2 separate incidents - should have been clearer. The group I was referring was walking next to me all the way into the centre of the city, not sure what they could have possibly done to be screamed at?

    Police

Just arrested a man because he crossed the road... group of people just watching quietly away towards the city centre and the police are screaming in their faces.

    First timers at St Andrews

Same here - not that I haven’t wanted to go, just logistics and family circumstances have meant I’ve not been able to go until today! can’t wait
  10. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

Again - don’t disagree. I think the reality is they knew their Brexit position was going to be dismissed unilaterally outside of the cosy Remain urban areas, so it was easier to focus on something else.
  11. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

Or naive in the sense that they were only targeting young people as they thought it would be enough to get over the line.
  12. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

surely MySpace is where it’s at?
  13. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

    You mean mislead and lie.
  14. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

I agree with this - I think they thought after 2017 that Facebook would be a redundant avenue and it was all about Twitter, Instagram and the like.
  15. Ian1779

    Cobra

  16. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

To be fair - irrespective of their agendas and splits, come election time they unite behind a single voice. Labour couldn’t follow suit.
  17. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

The Labour Party became lost in 2010.
  18. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

The thing is I don’t disagree on reflection. He has set a narrative and one that we should build on with a new leader. But I worry we lose the good things and slip back to being a party ambivalent on austerity.
  19. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

Exacerbated by the Brexit issue. It’s not a comparable measure.
  20. Ian1779

    New Labour Leader

Certainly not the effect it had in 2017. In my opinion this is because it was too London focused and too Remain focused. Maybe the infrastructure isn’t there outside of the big city areas. That said - Momentum have as much right to be a part of the Labour family as any other organisation or...
