Probably. Richest club in the world, innit?

    Country Pubs

Never heard of Star Pubs. It was NBC when I was a kid, before Watneys took over. Travesty!

    Country Pubs

Can't really comment as the last time I went was on my BMW K100RS - and I sold that in about 1989. From memory though, it was very nice.

    Country Pubs

The current landlord, recently installed Scottish guy, seemed quite chirpy, and they were exceptionally accomodating. I can't really comment on the snap as ours was just the standard finger buffet kinda thing. Very acceptable though. I must get back soon to see if he's framed and hung the copy...

    Country Pubs

Just dragging this back out. Sorry! Mention of the Friendly (it was my local, born just a few doors up Fair Close from it) reminds me of real pub cuisine. When my great friend Jim Higgins and his wife Margaret ran it in the seventies, the food serving was bag of crisps - with a pickled egg in...

    Recommend a beer

Not for me. Tried it, didn't like it much.

    Recommend a beer

As I don't drink alcohol any more (too dangerous for me; gave up in January) I can't really contribute to this thread like I used to. However... I do permit myself an occasional alcohol-free beer (yes, many are 0.3 to 0.5 percent, but low enough not to be an issue). Neck Oil was always one I...

    Man Caves / Summerhouse insulation!

Maybe slightly left field, but it could be worth talking to campervan insulation companies and converters. Most have a wealth of experience in insulating and vapour-barriering small spaces (often for people to live full-time in, so needs to be good). There are lots out there as Google will...

    COV RFC 2022 - 2023

It's an extra grand income, plus beer money. I'm not proud. I'd take any bugger's money.

Just checked. Alo was 22 and a half stone just before he moved to Cov, and was for a while the heaviest player in the Prem. Just behind Mickey Quinn then.

Not as massive now as when he first signed for Cov. I reckon he dropped a couple of stones while he was at the BPA, and no doubt more since he moved. Never impressed much, either, so he's evidently improved if he can shift up to Top 14 French standards. It'll be interesting to see if he can.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

It's a few years now since they returned to fully-pro status (having had a period as such before, before going semi-pro). The difference between CRFC and Wasps though, is that they do it realistically, within budgetary constraints as far as possible, and the players also have other 'jobs' within...

Perhaps we should rearrange it to 'SWAPS' ?

    Wasps downward spiral...

Well, whaddya know? Willing to bet this thread still has legs though. (Oh, and it's 'Hara-kiri' Clint. Just so they know what to Google 😉).

It'll be a sight more than eighty, unless they've been shipping out contracts at a rate of knots just recently - and I can't see that.

I did just 'whoop' a little bit.

    Wasps downward spiral...

We could never be so lucky. I have the distinct impression, as a near-lifetime follower of both CCFC and CRFC, that this whole sorry saga has some distance in its legs yet. I'd be very happy to be proven wrong; today, preferably, but I'm not counting any chooks yet.
