    Offers of support

A big thank you to my mum’s (living in CV3) window cleaner who rang her a couple mornings ago and asked if there was anything he could do for her at the present time. As I live away from Coventry this was a huge relief. She will be too proud/stubborn to take him up on his offer unless she is...

    Supermarket shortages

Tend to grow heritage varieties at the allotment. Save most seed year on year apart from potatoes and onions (grow from sets) and lettuce...just too fiddly. I replenish one or two sets of seed every couple years to ensure they stay ‘true’. Just hope we have a good growing year this year. Just...

Coronavirus Isolation - TV Shows to Binge

Wife and I like Outlander...now on series 5 (amazon prime). It won’t be for everyone but as we may all be spending more time with our other halves it is something to consider as it appeals to both. Romance, history, some violence and action and a bit of sex. Certainly towards end of series one...

If the season has finished, your player of the season is...

So hard...we have had a fantastic season and not one player (of the current main 17 have let the club, themselves or fans down). Players like mccallum, shippers and westbrooke have stepped up to the plate and improved immeasurably. Baka and max...not everyone’s favourites have, when called...

    Coronavirus

Just as chaotic...we have mini Trump aka Boris and his closest adviser Cummings. Dither delay and out of step with most of the world in an attempt to flatten the rate of infection (or at least that’s what we are told. On Sunday a public appeal to car manufacturers et al to make ventilators for...

Okay, someone's got to start it...

Been to the allotment...We are planting a small orchard. Persuaded the committee to get a Wykin Pippin as one of the trees. Helped plant some trees. Gave them (the trees) a good dose of cider (wassailed them) and drank the rest. Not a bad day but still wish it was approaching H/T at St. Andrews...
