That would be a start - someone with experience of the area. There will still be numerous civil servants in the department but I feel it would help.

I’d actually like to see someone with educational experience in one of these roles. And when I say experience I don’t mean ‘went to private school’ Not sure there is anyone in Labour that fits that remit.

I wonder how Dom will feel when Boris gets shunted out holding the can for Cov-ID and replaced by Gove.

‘For the many not the few’ worked well for a Labour in 2017. Boris’ ‘Get Brexit done’ was even better in 2019.

I think they are all fair and reasonable points, and I also feel that can easily co-exist with some socialist policies that are generally popular with the public. What concerns me (and I guess I am also soul-searching politically too) is that your suggestions only seem to go in hand with an...

Scotland is gone now for Labour - best case is they could take the seats not held by the SNP currently but that’s a real stretch.

This is a fair assessment. There’s little evidence of success for political parties when they fail to take a stand on something this big and not be decisive in that stand.

The Jewish community can’t even decide between them which voice ‘represents’ them. The BoD have claimed that position but it’s far from agreed.

The same red wall that just 2 years before had not only held but in some seats started to re-strengthen. Brexit was the overriding issue - out of the 56 seats lost - 52 were leave constituencies. Even the other 4 - 2 were lost because the Remain vote was split between with the Tories coming...

    Bit warm

There are a few places like that down there. My mum lives in St Mawgan next to the airport and as you head from there towards Newquay there’s some cracking beaches and pubs without having to go anywhere near.

But you could see it coming a mile off after its success on Corbyn. Sanders responded the way Corbyn should have. He had 40 years of prominent anti-racist campaigning behind him. Not calling it out as bullshit allowed the narrative to be built and embed.

Too afraid to offend, speak up and you’re a racist - I don’t know. This shit was tried with Sanders in America - difference was he came out guns blazing and stopped it in its tracks.

Perception? The red wall fell because of Labour’s appalling Brexit position, but it had been crumbling at the edges for a while. What are they looking to see from a Labour leader that will win back their vote? Labour can’t win without taking this back. Their offer needs to be transformative...

I agree with you - but when you start to dig beyond the surface of what is a very complex situation then you start to see things like this occur. If I was to accuse the Israeli government of being an apartheid state (which it is) there would be some people saying that was anti-semitic (not on...

Treading very carefully here..... there is a correlation between those that support Palestinian rights and those that are supposedly ‘vehement anti-semites’
