    George Floyd

Malcom X stated that capitalism will never stop being racist and here we are 55 years after his death. Difficult to say he didn’t have a point when over half a century later the king of capitalism has triggered a worldwide movement through systematic racism. The fact that BLM or to be more exact...

    George Floyd

It’s impossible to untie the two. Politics has been part of the problem since forever, by default it has to be part of the solution. It’s just an empty slogan otherwise.

Just comparing the U.K. breakdown by country and it looks to me like England is the country that is slowing the drops in numbers. Both Northern Ireland and Scotland doing really well, Wales better than England and now we have this situation where Leicester is looking like it may have to have a...

Been a big fan of martial arts films for as long as I can remember. Got a soft spot for Sonny Chiba films, the Street Fighter series being the obvious ones.

It’s a difficult one. I’m not black so in many ways I’m not qualified to say it’s not offensive or it is offensive. As a white person I’m not offended by black actors voicing white characters but then as a white person I’ve not been subjected to decades of repression from people of a different...

There’s also the small matter that black actors have voiced white characters before. The one that springs straight to mind is James Earl Jones voicing Darth Vadar. I think well known voice actor (and Marvin from Pulp Fiction) Phil LaMarr has voiced more than 1 white animated character.

In many ways you could argue that voicing Consuela is more controversial as he’s voicing someone from a minority and stereotyping the accent, much like Hank Azaria as Apu in the Simpsons.

Not good enough. What are you going to say to Che Guevara to show him the era of his ways? What’s that you say? Dead? Over 50 years ago? Why was he brought up again?

I don’t think that although at the same time I don’t know her reasoning but that wouldn’t be my go to. It’s far more likely that she didn’t spend the two minutes it would have taken on google to find the origins of the story and the original intended use of the story. So basically I put it down...

    Rebecca Long-Bailey sacked

I think it’s pretty simple. You have to look at where this started and the reasoning behind it. The far right in America first made the connection between Israeli training of the American police and the death of George Floyd. They did it purely to lay the seed that it’s the Jews fault. A classic...

You should watch The Best of Enemies. Very similar vein and again based on a true story. It’s stars Taraji Penda Henson from hidden figures and Sam Rockwell as the other lead. Really good film. I think it’s still available on Sky at the moment.

Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly. You’ll like it, it about suppressed black women. Suppressed twice, once for being black and then again for being women. Non fiction also. Or you could just watch the film. Or maybe The Best of Enemies: Race and Redemption in the New South by Osha Gray...

I see Airbus is one of OneWebs biggest investors. This is Airbus who is making a lot of the hardware and software for Galileo and will be part of the operation of the system. Are we just going to end up with a more expensive less effective version of Galileo. Struggling to see where the common...
