Match Thread Plymouth Argyle vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 19th Jan

Looks like someone's been on the pop already. There's absolutely no need for such an aggressive tone. Totally uncalled for. Typical tough guy hiding behind a keyboard....

Agreed. Admittedly just on one appearance but it looks to me as if Bright is very much another square peg on the left. Happy to be proven wrong!

The most glaring issue with the team as of now is the need for a left winger - the new injury to Jones was a serious blow for us this season. Since then we have tried to replace with square pegs in round holes. Hiwula as a best case example. Or alternatively used Shipley (also I think to...

How we miss someone like this

I agree with all of this. Regis and Speedie never quite worked. Add in the fact that Speedie for all his brilliance was very disruptive in the dressing room. From an interview I heard a few weeks back, I don't think that Sillett would have signed him in hindsight. Going to be a controversial...

Burge 6, due to Wimbledon's limitations not much to do. Sterling 6, I like watching him play. Offers an attacking dimension. Willis 7, looked assured Hyam 7, similarly decent (as always) McCallum 5, seemed nervous early on which was understandable, grew into the game. Thomas 7, always a threat...

    Sterling

Agreed Otis. To be honest though in those first few games Johnson hardly resembled a professional footballer. I personally have not seen a player transform so much in half a season. He’s a serious talent and destined for the higher leagues.

Agree with every word of this except that I really enjoyed the game - a much better performance overall. ee

It’s Christmas Grends. Throw away the shovel, relax for once, enjoy a few mince pies and please stop embarrassing yourself.

Interesting Grends. I think by the use of your own selective stats (goal scoring ratio for McNulty with Max in the team) that you conclude that Max was at least as good then as the other strike partners paired with McNulty. Quite an admission from you. Well done.

Another new first. You are now excluding our biggest games of the season i.e. the play offs to desperately support your argument against Max. It’s desperate Grends. Stop digging.

A new first even for Grendel. He’s a better judge than McNulty as to who McNulty should be playing with. Jesus Christ.

So since you love stats Grends, in his last 10 games in L2 Biamou scored 6, was the perfect foil for McNulty, provided numerous assists and was totally outstanding in our play off game at County. But of course, Biamou in your eyes is a pub player who showed no signs of improvement over the season.

‘The only reason we pushed on last season was the injury to Jones which caused Robins to change the formation’ Idiot. Just when I thought you couldn’t outdo yourself. Jones was the best player in L2 pre-injury never mind our team. He was tearing defences apart and winning games on his own.

Lord Nampil. Agree with every word of this. Like most of us ignore Grendel - once in every 50 posts he gets lucky and posts something that is vaguely reasonable. The other 49 posts are dedicated to criticism of Biamou despite all the evidence of how vital Bianou was in our charge to Wembley last...

    Jodi Jones Injury

Jesus wept. He's just had a few games and minutes on the pitch after a very serious injury. In his short cameos he looks to be progressing, pace is still there and he creates a whole set of different questions for right backs. Prior to injury last season he was our best player and in many...

Gibbo 70% agreed with your comments. But the comment on JJ is not fair. In the very short time pre-injury he looked sharp and on his game.
