    Worst ever signing?

Agreed Terry and you make some fair points. Hartson is disqualified as a serious contender in this list of misfiring contenders though as 1. He was sensational for us on the pitch (albeit too late as you rightfully point out) and 2. He was sold at a significant profit.

    Worst ever signing?

That’s not even the worst part. Shortly after joining us Blackburn offered £3MM+. We rejected it for reasons beyond any rational explanation.

    Worst ever signing?

I think Nick Proswicz (agreed absolutely useless) was on loan. We should start another list of ‘loan failures’.....most likely an even higher number of contenders.

    Worst ever signing?

Worst makeweight: Alan Brazil as part of Terry Gibson's move to Man Utd. Arrived injured and overweight. 15 appearances and 2 goals later was released on a free. A disaster. Within 1 year was playing for Witham Town (yes I've never heard of them either).

    Worst ever signing?

Worst signing but we somehow got our money back: I give you Garry Borrowdale. Signed for 650 "bags". You read that right, 650K for a full back in the Championship. Thanks Dowie! Confidence seemed to be shot and he performed the worst impression of a professional footballer I personally have...

    Worst ever signing?

Cobi Jones. Mainly because I purchased the ‘Cobi’s in town’ t-shirt from the club shop. Probably imagined at the time it was cool to be wearing something with an American type slogan. Wore it once to much hilarity from my mates. Never seen again. A bit like Cobi’s career with us.

    Worst ever signing?

Coleman was very poor for us - very little homework/planning (except if there was a bar nearby). Reid - just as bad - missed a game due to a family party.

    Worst ever signing?

More random disasters: Terry Butcher. £400K. 6 games. Paid highly as both a player and manager. Destroyed the team. Pressley (who I have respect for as a manager) was a total disaster for us as a player. Davie Bowman. Previously mentioned. Lots of hype. Very poor on the pitch. Isaias. Not...

    Worst ever signing?

He certainly played in our relegation season - I remember key misses in our must win game at Ipswich....could have all been different if we'd won there as we had some momentum after the signing of Hartson.

    Worst ever signing?

I agree with most of the comments on Bellamy. Disastrous signing and he clearly wasn't fully recovered after his injury lay off. But from memory we recouped a large % of the fee when he was sold to Newcastle so that in some way disqualifies him from the worst signing ever category? For me...

Remembering 1st game of the season

For me I would say: Bobby Gould's first game in charge when we'd all but been written off. I think we beat Watford away on the opening day? Cov 2 Spurs 1 - first game after the Cup Final (excluding the Charity Shield), Speedie's debut and an absolutely electric atmosphere. And I avoided being...

    Lighten up thread

Hickman's video has been hands down the highlight of the summer - best laugh I've had in years. For all of the wrong reasons obviously but it was totally brilliant. Hicks might just be some kind of parody genius - fantastic stuff if so. Even if not - an outstanding effort by the young man...

Seppala Interview on Sky Sports News

Who knows sky-blue elephant. The interviewer clearly states: 'in additional to the protests, Seppala has received personal abuse and has had her house broken into with the children inside.' Perhaps it's journalistic license.

Seppala Interview on Sky Sports News

I'm with you. Even more concerning though is how many would do her. She's 57! Although I guess the likes of the Mad Hatters and the like would be more than grateful for any action. I would also like to see hard evidence that City fans broke into her home - did the plod find fragments of...

    Tom Bayliss Signed Boots

News of a highest bid in.....from someone called Jay Hickman from Birmingham: '10 bags. Pennies. Deep pockets. And I'll shag all the other bidders for good measure.'

I personally think that Bayliss is not suited to a midfield 2 with defensive duties. Takes away from his true talents as an attacking midfielder.

Agree with both Maverick/Sky Blue93 - exciting team. I would say though that '10 bags' Bayliss is really best used as a pure attacking midfielder (effectively in the position that Bright occupies in the formation shown). Not entirely sure that Bright and Bayliss both can fit into the same...

    Sponsor incoming

I would double like this if I could. It really is totally amazing how many of our fans have more football knowledge than Robins and on top of this have such advanced expertise on topics including but not limited to injury rehabilitation, accountancy, design, council planning, stadium design...

62 posts so far on the & in Allsopp & Allsopp. The legendary Talbot strip in the early 80s would absolutely have broken the internet on this basis (obviously if the internet and GMK had been around).

I like your work Sky Blue Dreamer. As others have said I don't see Bayliss in a midfield two - I see him best positioned in your formation as our attacking midfielder. Playing in a similar position to Maddison to use his strengths in linking with the attack and driving forward. It's also...
