I think it’s worth trusting the judgement of Robins. Two seasons ago, Hyam was brought in as a development player and was 4th choice for much of our promotion season, the next season won player of the year. Robins has a plan for the wider squad.

Agreed. However, I believe there was interest from Championship teams, but they were probably signing him as a role player as opposed to a starter. Very good defender, good signing for Sunderland. But, like Hyam (so far) lacks goal scoring from set pieces. Hopefully, McFadzean, Rose and Hyam...

I can’t see how anyone can have any complaints. He’s getting game time in our league, if he does well, it’s a win-win.

Bakayoko had a better strike rate at periods last season. He’s not had a sustained run in the team to take a realistic sample from. Connor Chaplin’s strike rate for Pompey based off minutes played:goals is similar to JP for us, albeit over 20-odd appearances. Frankly, he’s an unknown character...

Frankly, both sides are damaged by our absence from Coventry. Therefore, I think both sides will eventually come to an agreement at some point.

He does rate him, but Ponticelli has some raw attributes and isn’t the best striker at the club. I see a lot of potential in JP, but, he’s not proved that in the adults game. Age group football is good, but almost a completely different sport compared to the men’s game.

Really like Thomas, he’ll improve massively and will hopefully live up to his price tag. He has got to work on his game in the final third, finishing and assisting. Some of that will come with experience.

That’s not terrible for a team who got relegated. I just don’t see where this signing would fit in. Maybe he’s available on a really cheap fee? All of Tyler Walker, Eaves and Marquis are the kind of players you fit into your team.

If I had to sacrifice a striker to get Walker, I’d probably ship Bakayoko. I don’t think we should get rid of Chaplin, at least not this season.

That’s fair enough because we’re not in a position where we need to sell Chaplin. If the right offer came in, I’d let him go because right now he’s probably not gonna be a starter right away. I’d take an interest when bids of £1m started coming in.

He’ll probably start the season on the bench if Bayliss stays. But, given the nature of the season, he’ll definitely get plenty of chances. He did well at the tail end of last season, and has been a bit underrated.
