It's mad. There's a whole host of reasons clubs loan players, relating to both finance and development. The idea they'll loan someone to a club because he used to play for them can't be high up the list.

I think he's a great player but think questions about his pace are valid given the formation we play. I'd still love us to sign him.

I would add physicality to that, (though you may be including that when you mention fitness) But all been well he should have a full close season working with Chris Jones under his belt by the time the season starts so its really over to him to live up to his potential.
