    Things that annoy you

First day back at work 22 months now into mandatory home working, if this is the future in my line of work I might look for a change in career. I'm no Colin Hunt but work without being able to have a chat and a bit of a craic with your workmates is a dismal experience.

Looking like 29th December could be a case peak by specimen date, now up to 226k! It would be consistent with Christmas day get togethers and the apparently shorter incubation period of Omicron. We shall see though.

    January Transfer Window

I suppose we're fortunate that we've loaned from Chelsea who have such depth that they're highly unlikely to recall Maatsen or JCS. We're also less reliant overall than previous seasons on loanees.

Thought this was interesting. UK vaccination programme currently seeming to show good outcomes given the case rates.

He's a decent player, been horrendously unlucky with injuries. Unfairly maligned for being an ugly bastard.

    24 Hours in Police Custody

Pretty harrowing episode tonight, newborn baby murdered. It was mentioned in passing that the police had been called previously in relation to the father, yet no reflection at all from the police over whether they responded. Annoys me quite a lot as the police whitewash their own role at times.

They are correlating but not to the same extent. I do feel like that this is the point where everybody be will have gained some immunity from infection and / or vaccine which means it'll be the last wave that has any major impact (hopefully).

The point of vaccines wasn't to end COVID just limit the impact of it.

Would it be logical to allow them to work in the 'hot' area of the hospital where people have already got COVID anyway? Not sure whether that would have an adverse impact on the already infected?

It's a faux Spanish lager really, brewed by Molson Corrs and sold exclusively in the UK. That said, despite that I really like it.

Given that they'll still test in hospital they'll still be able to sequence from them.

It is, if you have a positive LFT that should be sufficient to make you isolate. Lab capacity is finite as are consumables and reagents

It's a waste of resource, people should isolate on the basis of symptoms or a positive LFT.

Tbh they should abandon confirmation PCR testing, just a waste of time.
