Do you want to discuss boring politics?

This is why Labour is in a pickle. A knee-jerk shift to the left won’t really do the party any favours. Corbyn ran on a radical manifesto. The obvious fact is that culturally, Labour needs to do something to win back its culturally conservative base. Be it Starmer or Corbyn, the party is seen as...

From the out of contract players, Hyam, McFadz and Kelly are non-starters. Jodi Jones will probably get a 1 year contract. Unfortunately, that’ll be last chance saloon for him with us. For Biamou, his stock remains relatively high if he leaves us now and could get a more long term contract in...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Why would it be? The bigger headline is obviously Labour losing council seats up and down the country and a by-election in a constituency that was considered a ‘safe seat’. Pockets of Labour performing well should not detract from a fundamentally bad election night. The party is in real...

Liverpool voted in favour of Remaining in the EU. Labour is haemorrhaging votes in areas that are working class and voted Leave i.e. the Red Wall seats. If the current trend of Brexit Party votes in 2019 being distributed 3/4 to 1 to the Tories, the situation is bleak for Labour.

    Eccles

Burroughs looked good after a somewhat jittery start with some poor clearances. But, today was the perfect game for them because Millwall were not good at all and the young players performed well.

They’re under contract. SBP is referring to players out of contract.

    Great first season back

Home form was excellent this season. Our away form needs to be improved next season if we are to progress next season. Really positive about our future! Hoping for some positive transfers early in pre-season!

    Millwall (H) Saturday 8th May, 12:30pm

Is today the game where everyone who doesn’t usually score is getting in on the act?!

    Millwall (H) Saturday 8th May, 12:30pm

That’s a very dark joke for a match thread!

    Millwall (H) Saturday 8th May, 12:30pm

We need more goals from midfield, and Shipley seems to get goals from nowhere. It’s a good attribute to have and worth us keeping around. I don’t think anyone is suggesting he’s one of our best players now.

    Millwall (H) Saturday 8th May, 12:30pm

For all the hate Shipley gets, he does have a knack for scoring some really well placed goals. Definitely has a role to play next season. COH could probably take a leaf out of this book and shoot more often!

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

On the fundamental issues, Boris Johnson speaks the language of the working class. Whom overwhelmingly supports Brexit and is generally socially conservative in these red wall seats. Besides, Labour’s elite has also been overwhelmingly Oxbridge educated too. In relation to Corbyn, his entire...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s shortsighted to pin it on Corbyn. There were fundamental issues that predated the Corbyn era. Miliband oversaw the loss of Scotland and there’s a reason why parties like BNP (initially) and later UKIP began to hoover up Labour votes on the issue of immigration. You’ve got Brown dismissing...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The big thing in 2017 was that UKIP voters flipped to Labour. The current trend is that Brexit Party votes are being transferred to the Tories. If that trend follows, there are some really big hitters at risk in the Labour Party. Ed Miliband (Doncaster), Dan Jervis (Barnsley) and Ian Lavery...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Labour and Starmer has got some really difficult decisions to make. For too long, it’s pandered to the view of its membership rather than the wider electoral base. If Starmer wants to ‘rebuild the red wall’ he needs to start by apologising for attempting to have a 2nd Brexit referendum and stop...

    Manager of the Month

I also think Ainsworth has done a really good job to take it to the last day of the season too (technically).

Arsenal / playing the ball back

Arsenal are just a really boring team to watch who make the same mistakes over and over. They need to stop trying to emulate Man City because they don’t have the personnel for it. Either way, Guardiola has adapted to be able to play more direct too when it’s needed.

    Sam Mccallum

I think we’ll probably end up keeping McCallum on loan. Is developing exponentially under Robins. There was a need to sell him when we did. But, it makes you think what if we held fire selling him until the summer as L1 champions?

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Our recruitment really has been hit and miss over the past 5 seasons, hasn’t it? Not like we’ve gone from a L2 team to a Championship one...

    Colkett training with Coventry

Viveash said he was the ‘quickest’ player he had seen. Wakefield was unlucky with injuries and illnesses and so on. Maybe he could’ve developed into a decent player.
