I agreed with my manager that if my team and cut our lunch break in half and finished all our work... We can finish an hour early! Work chat has been dominated by the football today! No one is at the races with game upon us!

We’ve got 5 subs and there’s no doubt that we’ll bring on some of these players. Saka has been MOTM in most of his England performances to date. Not my first choice, but he is someone that clearly performs when he puts on the England shirt. Had Mount not had to isolate, I’d be surprised to see...

Agreed on Mount, he’s proven he can play in that role at Chelsea. I like Saka, but feel like he’s make a good impact sub at LWB or on the wing. Southgate has left himself open for a lot of stick if we lose tonight with the formation change. But, you’d hope the wingbacks can really drive forward...

He was out of position for Switzerland’s and gave away the ball in his own third in the lead up to Switzerland’s third. His attacking play was first class yesterday. Defensively... not so much and that’s holding his game back. Like Roy Keane & Viera said, probably could’ve done with a maturer...

I can’t imagine you’d be thrilled if you supported the world champions and they got dumped out by a minnow who last won a knockout game in the 1950s in the next tournament. Deschamps out?

Wouldn’t be my team, but this makes sense. We need a better delivery in the box and Trippier offers that. There’s the flexibility to change things up if we do need to chase a goal. Psychologically, I don’t like it because it seems like we’re adapting our style to play them. If we win, he’s a...

If England losing tomorrow is an ‘embarrassment’, what was France’s dismissal to Switzerland?

That midfield would be far too open and Henderson isn’t even fully match fit.

We’ve gone through the process of hiring big name, successful foreign managers. It just hasn’t worked out for us at all. Mourinho is too abrasive, falls out with players too often and think he wouldn’t do well international management. I’m actually quite fond of Mourinho compared to most...

I expect that we will win against Germany. To suggest it’s an embarrassment to lose that game is just unreasonable and no respectable pundit would agree with your point of view. Write Germany off at your peril. Let’s be honest, our group wasn’t easy. Czech Rep have just dumped the Netherlands...

No one has England as strong favourites. We’re ‘slight’ and the consensus is that this is pretty much a 50/50 game.

Losing to Germany would not be an embarrassment. If we overcome that hurdle, anything but ‘runners up’ would be a failure for Southgate.

All the important games at major tournaments are ‘win or go home’. Concede 2 goals in a match and you’re probably going to be on the losing side. It’s not like the champions league where you have another leg to tie things up or a long format game where the best teams will overcome temporary...

That tournament was the first one I really remember well. My primary school showed the matches before school - I think it was the 0-0 Nigeria game. I was on holiday in Cyprus for the Brazil game and remember the Ronaldinho goal really well. Heartbreaking!

2010 World Cup final and before that, you had the Netherlands v Portugal in Germany 2006 where the had 14 yellow cards, turning into 2 reds for Portugal. Crazy game of football!
