Rumour - Possibly after Izale McLeod

From what I've seen of the player, looking at his past clubs and records and the opinion of fans who have watched him regularly and just my gut feeling. Not saying he couldn't do it, but I'm not convinced.

Rumour - Possibly after Izale McLeod

16 in 43 is respectable but its hardly flying is it? 1 goal every 2.7 games, as I say ok L1 striker but not a top striker for this level. That is why he is at Gillingham

Rumour - Possibly after Izale McLeod

Yes, I do realise that. I also realise that doesn't automatically make him a good footballer and a good signing for us. Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing with his stats from last season but I'm sceptical as to whether he could replicate that for us.

Rumour - Possibly after Izale McLeod

Yes Clarke and Wilson were probably 2 of the best 3 strikers alongside Joe Garner that season.

Rumour - Possibly after Izale McLeod

Leon Clarke imo is/was a much better than Mcleod. Mcleod is more in the Cody Mcdonald style of being a good league 2 striker and ok league one striker rather than Clarke who in his time with us was probably one of the best strikers in the division at the time.

Our grounds too big for us (Sky Sports)

We wouldn't, a couple of bad results and attendances would drop regardless of whether we are still up there and then it will be typical city, not paying to watch that rubbish again, can't even beat Fleetwood and the usual overreaction we get. And then when we might get on a good run again...

Rumour - Possibly after Izale McLeod

He's scored a lot of goals in the lower league but I really don't he is that good. He would solve our penalty problem though I'd expect as he has a very good record from the spot.

Our grounds too big for us (Sky Sports)

We wouldn't, honestly you wouldn't see any worthwhile attendances unless its a one off or until the promotion/title clincher come around and if we went on a bad run attendances would drop anyway even if we remained near the top. Anyway we're just going round in circles

Our grounds too big for us (Sky Sports)

So do we just stop going every time we get a sticky spell, even teams in 1st place go through tough spells at some point in the season. People say if we're near the top and having a good season the fans will turn up, if we're top of the league in December and getting okish attendances of 11-12k...

    The Ashes

I'm not an expert on cricket but even I know this is a disgrace, we were always likely to lose but we haven't even put up a reasonable resistance. Australia could have made another 600 in there second innings had they wanted and then we come in and our players look like they've never picked a...

Our grounds too big for us (Sky Sports)

No but to use it as an example of our incredible support is silly as it is a one off. Our support was still relatively poor 14-16k when we were challenging for the play offs.

Our grounds too big for us (Sky Sports)

Leeds sold out there allocation so then a few extras decide to go as think it will be a good day. Then the fixture is massively hyped and the bandwagoners and snowball effect takeover. If it was the norm, then surely there would have been 22k Cov fans there the next match and further matches?
  13. SkyBlue_Bear83

    Season Ticket Sales

Yep, I think they would. Southampton were in an awful position in there first league one season and were still drawing in 20k.
  14. SkyBlue_Bear83

Our grounds too big for us (Sky Sports)

Well it counts but in the context of the Leeds match its clearly not the norm as the games before and after that were relatively poor despite us still being in the top 6. I think you've completely missed the point tbh, we're not a well supported club for how big our fans think we are.
  15. SkyBlue_Bear83

Our grounds too big for us (Sky Sports)

Well you only have to look to the next three home fixtures to see, 9k v Tranmere (13th going into game), 10k v Oldham (10th going into game) and 11k v Yeovil (8th going into game, 1 point off play offs). So whilst it looks like attendances were slowly and gradually creeping up the 15k was a...

Our grounds too big for us (Sky Sports)

Well I didn't really know how big the away end at the Ricoh was when I said 8k, if its 6k as you say then no I don't think there were 8k. No I'd love the club to be successful, why would I move onto the players? There's enough people telling us how shit our squad is and how we are going to be...

Our grounds too big for us (Sky Sports)

6k then, still depends on how many were sitting in the home end. Haven't admitted you were wrong yet about the time we were in the top 6 for?
  18. SkyBlue_Bear83

Our grounds too big for us (Sky Sports)

Depends how many Leeds fans were in the home end but likely yea, Leeds sold out there allocation and then Cov fans just turned up because it would be a good occasion. The Leeds match was early November and attendances just plummeted despite us remaining in the top 6 until new years day.
  19. SkyBlue_Bear83

Our grounds too big for us (Sky Sports)

Leeds attendance was 28k when Leeds brought about 8k which hyped the fixture up. Other than Leicester none of the other fixture broke 16k as far as I can see. Norwich, Preston and Middlesbrough matches were 15k. Barnsley, Burnley and Cardiff matches were 14.5k. Doncaster match was 12k
