    Southend (Home) Match Thread

First half was very sloppy, Southend weren't great and didn't do much to get there goals but we deserved to be behind for how sloppy we were. Second half we battered them, could have won had it not been for worldy performance from there keeper. Still looking good going forward, defence is shaky...

Its common knowledge he's out till December/January time, he has a fracture and ligament damage. Definitely not good!

Walsall played very well and deserved there goals, Crewe and tonight however we just gifted them there goals.

    opposition chances

I think when the opposition are countering, we're too interested in chasing the ball trying to win it back than getting into defensive positions and maintaining our shape.

    Lee Burge

O'Brien has credit in the bank with previous performances, Burge doesn't

Said after the match today to someone, swap the two keepers around and we'd probably have won 5-0. I don't think its much of an exaggeration to say we'd have comfortably won that match if the keepers were on opposite teams.

Who cares anyway? Obviously Southend contain less people determined to be negative and rundown there club at every available opportunity than we do.

    A Mistake?

You could be right, I know for sure short term loans don't count. Don't know about youth loans.

    A Mistake?

I thought they had to be full call ups to the senior squad but I could be wrong, i.e U19 call ups don't count.

    Wilson scores again

Probably because more often than not, the fans in the past have got on the back of the team. Fans getting behind, supporting and encouraging the team is invaluable and will be a massive asset this year if the first two matches are anything to go by. Will be interesting to see how the fans react...

    Leon Lobjoit

Can't find anything remotely official suggesting he is, all there is him on facebook saying he's getting back into football and passed a medical whilst posting a photo of himself in a QPR training top.

    Wilson scores again

That's not how how it works, if all of the promotion, goals scored, appearances, international apps. and any other performance related clauses are all met it will take the transfer up to over 3 million. The sell on % will be on top of everything else, so if he's sold for say 15 million that...

    Wilson scores again

We received a 6 figure sum when Bournemouth were promoted apparently, we have a sell on clause and don't know what the other clauses are. The club have never disclosed the official details of the deal which is the norm now with 99.9% of transfers in world football.

The telegraph seem to think we have a sell on clause but that could likely be bs coming from them.
