FA Cup Thread: Examples Of Media Writing Us Off

Was beating Germany not a big game? I don’t think we had beaten them in KO game since 1966. In 2018, we probably had enough to beat Croatia but even if we’d won, we were going to be big underdogs against France or Belgium. It was the only tournament where there was no expectation because our...

FA Cup Thread: Examples Of Media Writing Us Off

England have been chronic underachievers - how we didn’t make at least one semi-final between 1998 and 2010 is genuinely beyond me. Yet, Southgate does it back-to-back and we miss out against eventual finalists v France and he’s a shit manager? Make it make sense! Southgate’s legacy that...

FA Cup Thread: Examples Of Media Writing Us Off

Just as our success was down to our players previously… Southgate’s critics can’t even praise him for the environment he’s fostered in the England camp. Players are unified and actually enjoy playing for England unlike previous ‘golden generations’. Italy and France were favourites in the...

    QPR fixture announced

Praying we finish 5th so I can make the second leg. Otherwise, I’m missing both playoff ties! 😭

Remember the email that went out for the consultation on safe standing? Plenty of randoms who may have been to the odd game. Don’t get me wrong, it wouldn’t be 34,000+ active users. For example, my sister has an account that I set up years ago and she’s not been in years.

I don’t have the data to hand, but think the STHs plus members, plus non-STHs with points will be close to 30-32k. Then there’s the ‘riff raff’ of previous purchase history. I’d say the club must have around 40k people on their database.

You’re assuming that all groups of STHs will be able to buy at the same time. I’ll be going with people who have 1500-1700+ why tier the sales to split us up or force people to wait until seats become available? Especially when there’s enough for all STHs. It’s the same reason I couldn’t get...

Seems unnecessary to me - every STH will get the chance to buy on the lower tier if that’s their preference. There’s 34,000 available tickets, much higher than our core away support. Tiering the away support for STH will split STH up. For example, I’m on 1,100 and my brother is on 970 points...

    Semi Final Dates

You are right on both counts. Man City v Chelsea is also mooted for the 20th April.

Why would they get 2 tickets and no one else? The club have never done something like that before. If anything it’ll be 2x ST but as I mentioned earlier, we don’t have a big enough allocation to allow for 2x all STHs. The reason for the points system is because ST is not a big enough...

    Semi Final Dates

My Google calendar is linked to the automatic CCFC calendar and that has been updated to the 20th and has been since this afternoon.

Oh I agree, it’s just that with his membership, he’ll be able to get his own ticket. I’d be inclined to take a mate who at least wanted Cov to win! 😂

He’ll probably be able to get one himself via the membership but there’s no chance I’m abetting someone in the enemy camp.

I had a Man U supporting mate asking for a ticket. Before we judge, he is Cov member at least and goes to about 10 home games a season. Computer says no though.

Looking at the playoffs sale windows, I think ST will get equal access because everyone will have a chance of a ticket at 1 per person. Then I imagine the standard points scheme will come into play because there’s ~15,000 tickets available from there. We need to sift out as many day trippers...

2 per ST holder is wrong. We have 19,000+ so not every ST would get a chance to buy a ticket. 1 per supporter, no ifs, no buts. It’ll mean some of my non-Cov supporting mates will miss out - tough.

    Ben Sheaf in depth

That’s not what I said at all. Let’s not kid ourselves that our team needs improvement to get to the next level. Without Sheaf, we were beaten in midfield against Norwich, PNE and WBA in my view. In fact, we immediately looked a better side as soon as Sheaf came on against Watford. Besides...

Good enough for what? Clearly both are good enough for our squad for where we currently are at. Longer term, if we want to get promotion and stay up, we will need to improve in that area. Our CMs last season were Sheaf and Hamer - just imagine how good we’d be if we had both this season.

Undoubtedly, by far and away our best CM and if we can get someone else that good alongside him, it really will be HMS piss the league next season.

Best place in Cov to watch City games?

On a serious note, it wouldn’t surprise me if they opener a stand or something for fans to watch the game on a big screen.
