I have an Idea - Old Boys XI game at Ricoh on 1st Home game day

There is another thread discussing the same thing. Although that one seems to be suggesting getting together to listen to the radio.

Agree Otis. The time has probably come but most will not agree.

    Protest at Football League Headquarters

Already done that. About 10 people turned up.

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

Exactly. This will pull in the crowds more than a radio broadcast.

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

I'll take your word for it. I'm certainly no expert in these things. Just think it is the wrong direction to go personally but if others think it is right I will support it, albeit from afar.

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

If its come to the Ricoh to listen to the radio on a Friday night I'm out. Just not logistically possible with where I live. Suspect it would end up with a few hundred there.

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

Plus home games are likely to be moved due to clashes so would end up having to stage a radio listen in on a Friday night. I could see a charity protest match with CCFC old boys coming close to filling the ground with the right publicity.

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

No. I think it would have to be agreed by the club. Same reason I can't listen to Coventry games for free in Yorkshire. Plus, not sure people would turn up in numbers for something they could do at home.

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

Exactly, and the way to do it would be to have a football match. CCFC would have to agree to a public broadcast of the game so that won't happen. We need to put on a charity match.

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

You may not get the rights to broadcast the commentary live at such an event. A CCFC old boys game may be better.

    write to NTFC trust

Exactly. We need to bombard our own trust to speak with Northampton trust. Lets try to keep them on side.

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

We need to put our own game on. Could maybe follow it up with an event staged "outside".

    Something not right

I'm not normally for liquidation but it would maybe be the quickest and cleanest way out this situation. Reform 2 steps lower at conference level (although I seem to remember that rule had been changed and there may be a minimum level to reform).

So, you'd rather go to the ricoh?

Great idea. Could be the start of a fighting fund. 2 very similar threads ongoing here

    write to NTFC trust

Maybe our trust should do this. Lets not bombard them. We have a trust for a reason.

    Something not right

Just saying expect them to throw a spanner in the works.

    Something not right

The contract was never actually changed.

I have an Idea - Old Boys XI game at Ricoh on 1st Home game day

10th August not far away so need to get cracking on arranging this. Anyone have any contacts for ACL? Does PWKH still come on here occasionally? Not seen him in a while.

    Something not right

If I was ACL I wouldn't agree to that CVA. Bearing in mind they will be missing out on 40 years of £1.2 million a year (£48 million) plus the years rent already owed the half a million offered just wouldn't cut it for me.

I have an Idea - Old Boys XI game at Ricoh on 1st Home game day

Fantastic idea. Sure we could get ACL and the former players association (unless they are tied to the club - if so, may need to find ex players outside the FPA) on board. Maybe charge £5 to £10 with profits after ACLs costs and kit costs going to charity. Don't we have a supporters team...
