    UEFA EURO 2024

Was it a smooth process? Hoping to go to a neutral game when I’m in another host city England aren’t playing.

Well, whenever anyone talk about ‘x’ issue, your solution is more funding and more government ownership. What’s the logical conclusion of all this? Pretty sure you’re an avowed socialist too. Dw, it’s not a dirty word or a slur, but it’s an insight into your worldview and ideal society.

I don’t trust Viagogo after my experiences in Euro 2016. I got Wales v Russia tickets (Russia end), that was good. But my Poland v Portugal tickets were stolen because delivery was not signed for. PayPal had to get my money back which was around £320 for 2 tickets.

Meanwhile, government ownership and centralised economies with high tax and spend hasn’t been tried? If you want to rely on government, be my guest. I’ll live my live and you live yours, I don’t have a problem with that. Yet, you want to shout down people who think differently to you.

    Transfer Rumour Josh Windass

Since Godden scored 1 goal after September in the league so that’s pretty bad. Which, given our form was significantly better than Sheff Wednesday and that Windass is not primarily a striker, is pretty bad. Sheffield Wednesday’s form picked up after they hired Rohl so under a better manager...

They deserve to be kicked out of government - I’ve never voted Tory. I’m pointing out that if you expect a new Labour government to be radical and promise big spending increases in public services, you’re going to be disappointed. Don’t believe me? See Wes Streeting’s comments on the NHS - he...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Co’mon Fern, you know full well it doesn’t mean literally run out of money. If the answer is to print more money, it’ll fuel inflation and interest rates. When interest rates nearly hit 6-7%, we were on the precipice of a mortgage and pension crisis and economic collapse. The BoE had to...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I guess we’re both stupid c**ts if we both voted Corbyn in 2019. As a principle, if you rely on government to fix all your problems and provide all of your needs, it’s a sure way to be a) disappointed and b) poorer. Dw, you’ll be calling Starmer a proto-Tory in 12 months when his future...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Who do you think buys government bonds? I have a suspicion you’re going to be left really disappointed when Labour win and admit the state can’t intervene everywhere and/or increase public expenditure significantly. With respect, Socialists have never had the best reputation for economic...

Well, we seen what happened when interest rates approach 6%… Genuine calls to support/bailout people with mortgages. Imagine what 7-10% would look like? A lot of people would lose their homes. Unfortunately, this is limiting what governments could do, left or right. If you want ‘unaccounted’...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Ironically, I think interest rates being normalised at historically low levels has damaged the economy. Cheap money has fuelled many people to live lives they can’t actually afford (e.g. in my last two jobs I’ve managed people with flashier cars than myself and my bosses). Hence personal debt...

51-49 is more or a less a draw. The reason I think Sunak ‘won’ was that Starmer was pretty stumped on the raising tax. Unless the tax issue resonates with voters it’s a minor debate point rather than a discrediting of a future Labour government.

In fairness, the ‘presidentialisation’ of politics has been driven by the electorate. Boris purged the Tories of non-believers at the last election and Labour had the done the same for this election. Increasingly, the party leader dominates the party.

I didn't like how the moderator interrupted so often. That said, Sunak continued his whiny debating style that wins no endearment from voters - hence a pretty wooden debater like Liz Truss beat him soundly in the only other election he's faced.

    UEFA EURO 2024

Birmingham to Frankfurt, 19th June. As for the return leg, was looking like a 26th June flight Cologne to Birmingham (late night) for about £98 - hand luggage only. However, I work for a German company and so may take advantage of the new head office and some working abroad policies to stay out...

Some interesting ideas at a glance. Very interesting you mention the economy because economic management probably won't change under Labour. For all the laughing and joking around Liz Truss's tenure as a squatter in No. 10, it sent a massive warning shot to Labour as well. Any 'unfunded' public...

    UEFA EURO 2024

I got the last 2 flights tickets from Ryanair departing Birmingham international for £51 (at that price) on the 19th. It was a real spur of the moment thing after 2 beers. Some mates of mine are flying out from Manchester on the 20th or 21st June for about the same price.
