Just thinking as we're playing West Brom, you never hear that song sung any more:
Oh I do like to be beside the sea side,
Oh i do like to be beside the sea,
Oh i do like to stroll along the prom prom prom
Where the brass band plays fuck off West Brom
Boddy really ought to go back to running a non league club not a second tier club with a turnover i guess in the region of £16-18m

In my job I've worked with a lot of clinicians and bastions of health they are not, unsurprisingly really given the shift working and hours undertaken by hospital based staff in particular. It is ironically a very unhealthy job.
Truss and her army of IEA and Tufton St advisors don't believe in the state. I assume that includes the state security services which they might need if mass unemployment and poverty (a very real prospect) hit.

I know, the level of politics coverage by that useless 4th estate doesn't help. Having said all that if you're going give the public a long term energy mortgage give half of it to them to invest in reducing the need for energy.

Surely in your world of believing public spending is paid for by taxation, where there is an increased number of pensioners drawing a pension from the state you need to replace them with workers paying in regardless of what they do?
I'd be interested to understand if anybody has modelled what the ratio of population size needs to be between over 70s and those still in employment given the former's need for services provided by the latter
